Medtronic’s Tax Department consists of over 100 tax professionals and support personnel located in different locations in the United States (U.S) and six different locations outside the U.S. The Tax Department is broken down into seven major groups: Reporting & Tax Accounting, Compliance, M&A and Tax Planning, Audits & Controversy, Transfer Pricing and International Taxes. In this role, the Tax Accountant, Asia Pacific (APAC), will have responsibility over designated countries’ income tax compliance (managing an outsourced provider), audits, and tax planning. The Senior Cost Accountant will play a critical role in supporting the company’s financial health by managing and analyzing the costs of products, projects, and services. This position focuses on tracking, analyzing, and reporting the costs associated with business operations, driving improvements in cost efficiency, and supporting strategic decisions. Key Responsibilities:

Cost Analysis & Reporting:

• Analyze product, labor, and material costs, and prepare detailed reports to support financial decision-making.
• Develop and maintain standard costs and manage cost updates and variances.

Internal Controls & Process Improvement:

• Ensure compliance with internal control policies, company standards, and GAAP.

• Support the financial audit process by preparing and reviewing cost-related documents.

Cost System Maintenance:

• Maintain and update the cost accounting system, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

Education Qualification & Essential Experiences:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to Head of Tax (Asia Pacific), you will be providing senior level support and expert tax advisory to Asia Pacific (APAC) senior management for business support, M&A, tax technical and compliance matters as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and oversee the filing of regular tax returns, tax audit / inquiries and notices from tax authorities, GST/VAT and withholding tax
• Lead implementation of Pillar 2 compliance for the Group
• Assist the group to comply with transfer pricing rules and plan comprehensive tax and transfer pricing strategies through the use of Organisation for Economic Cooperation (OECD) guidelines' and Singapore transfer pricing guidelines' methodologies.
