Position Overview: Senior Procurement Engineer

Responsible for managing the development and execution of procurement strategies and processes that align with the company’s operational goals. This key role ensures the procurement of high-quality materials and services while driving cost efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have excellent negotiation skills and extensive knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry. Additionally, the position includes managing infrequent large expenditure, procuring indirect materials and equipment, engineering consumables, and various services.

Key Responsibilities

• The Senior Procurement Engineer will be responsible for managing procurement activities on large-scale projects, ensuring compliance with budget limitations. This includes overseeing procurement budgets, providing regular expenditure updates, and identifying opportunities for cost reduction. The role also covers the procurement of indirect materials and equipment.
• This position will manage the procurement of technical goods and services, ensuring that they meet project requirements and are delivered on schedule.
• The Senior Procurement Engineer will build and maintain a strong supplier network for equipment, utilities, and facilities, with an emphasis on contract negotiation to drive cost savings while ensuring the quality of supplies.
• The role involves evaluating potential suppliers based on their quality, cost, and reliability to ensure optimal vendor selection.
• The Senior Procurement Engineer will be responsible for drafting, managing, and issuing Requests for Proposals (RFPs), leading contract negotiations to secure favorable terms, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
• This position requires close collaboration with teams from Engineering, Operations, R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality Control, and Quality Assurance to ensure that procurement efforts align with project timelines and regulatory requirements.
• The Senior Procurement Engineer will lead efforts to optimize inventory levels, minimize procurement costs, and implement continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function.
• A key responsibility of this role is ensuring that all purchased materials and equipment meet required regulatory and quality standards, including adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Qualifications

• A degree in Engineering or a related field.
• 6-8 years of experience in procurement engineering, preferably in the pharmaceutical or related manufacturing industries.
• Strong expertise in procurement processes, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality standards in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong negotiation and analytical abilities with attention to detail and a strategic focus on cost savings and operational efficiency.

We are representing our client in the construction and engineering industry in hiring for Senior Procurement Engineer

Responsibilities

• Handle purchase requisitions, quotes, and order placements while tracking order status to guarantee timely delivery.
• Collaborate with project teams to synchronize procurement requirements and uphold internal policies and procedures for adherence.
• Evaluate and select potential vendors and suppliers for M&E equipment, including transformers, cables, switchgears, electrical panels, lighting, and circuit breakers.
• Inspect and assess the quality of purchased M&E equipment and address any issues or discrepancies quickly.
• Assess vendors capabilities, product quality, and pricing to make sound decisions, negotiate contracts for favourable terms, and build new vendor relationships while conducting comprehensive due diligence on key or preferred vendors.
• Collaborate with the Cost Management and Business Development teams to optimize costs while ensuring quality is not compromised.
• Maintain strong connections with current vendor and handle any problems related to deliveries, quality, or pricing.
• Additionally, seek cost-saving opportunities through bulk purchasing or by considering alternative vendors.

Requirement

• Min Diploma in Supply Chain or its equivalent.
• Procurement experience within M&E industry.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Good knowledge with M&E equipment and industry standards
• Good communication skill to interact with people at all levels.
• Maintaining internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance.

• Reports to Operation Manager.
• Get quotation and purchase raw materials , components and assigning secondary process

to subcontractors.

• Updating machining subcontractor quotation in system once approved by Management.
• Issue and manage Work Orders and Purchase Orders.
• Consolidate & sourcing all materials , components, plating from alternate source to have a better cost down.
• Assist in any duties as assigned by Management or Immediate Superior.
• Perform evaluation for all purchases for all company assigned buyers.
• Work with group sourcing team on procurement evaluation.
• To promulgate and manage Supply Chain Management plan.

Job Requirements

Must-have

• Mechanical engineering Diploma or equivalent work experience.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills English needed for communicating with a range of people, both internally and externally, as well as presentation skills.
