Key Duties
The Mechanical Inspector shall be capable of performing the following duties on his own:
Check installations of static equipment, coating, painting, piping etc
Review installation to ensure compliance with construction drawings
Ensure installation has adequate space with operation and maintenance considerations
Inspect pressure vessels, storage tanks etc and ensure safety devices are properly installed
Active role in technical discussions with contractors and equipment suppliers
Witness the commissioning of rotating and non-rotating equipment
Proper record keeping of all inspection/witness activities carried out
Perform inspection for defects clearing.
Ensure defects are cleared before signing off
Carry out other inspection/witness activities as assigned.
Requirements
He should possess a diploma in Engineering from the polytechnics or other instituations. Other similar qualifications would be considered.
He is preferred to have at least ten (10) years of inspection works in power plant, petrochemical plant or other heavy industries.
Experience in handling EPC contractors and equipment suppliers will be an advantage.
Experience with inspection of coating, painting, welding etc will be an advantage.
Possession of other relevant qualifications and trainings would be favorable considered.
