As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Quality Assurance Manager to join our team and ensure the consistent excellence of our water-based barrier coating products.

Role Overview:

As the Quality Assurance Manager at Aegis Packaging, you will play a critical role in upholding the highest levels of quality, safety, and compliance in our water-based barrier coating manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining robust quality control procedures, ensuring adherence to industry standards, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. Your expertise will be instrumental in guaranteeing the satisfaction of our customers and the reputation of our company in the market.

Responsibilities:

Develop and Implement Quality Control Processes:

• Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality control processes for barrier coating manufacturing.
• Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and repeatability in production processes.
• Conduct regular reviews of existing procedures to identify areas for enhancement and optimization.

Compliance and Regulatory Affairs:

• Ensure strict adherence to industry regulations, environmental guidelines, and relevant safety standards.
• Keep abreast of any changes in regulations and update internal procedures accordingly.
• Collaborate with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and certifications.

Conduct Quality Audits and Inspections:

• Plan and execute regular audits of production lines, raw materials, and finished products to verify compliance with quality standards.
• Identify and address any deviations from established protocols, taking corrective actions as necessary.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

• Collect, analyse, and interpret data from quality control tests to monitor process performance and product quality.
• Prepare detailed reports on quality metrics, presenting findings to management and relevant stakeholders.

Training and Skill Development:

• Conduct training sessions for manufacturing staff to ensure understanding and compliance with quality control procedures.
• Foster a culture of quality consciousness and continuous improvement among employees.

Non-Conformance Management:

• Investigate and resolve customer complaints and non-conformance incidents related to product quality promptly and effectively.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurring quality issues.

Collaborate with R&D and Product Development:

• Work closely with the research and development team to introduce new products and improve existing ones.
• Ensure seamless integration of quality control measures in new product development processes.

Supplier Quality Management:

• Collaborate with procurement and supplier management teams to evaluate and qualify vendors based on their quality and compliance capabilities.
• Monitor and assess the performance of suppliers to maintain high-quality raw materials.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
• Proven experience (5-7 years) in a Quality Assurance or Quality Control role within a coating manufacturing or related industry environment.
• Strong knowledge of quality control methodologies, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements in the coatings industry.
• Familiarity with relevant quality management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, etc.).
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights.
• Effective leadership and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of quality and safety.
• Experience in continuous improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean) is advantageous.

To assist the Branch’s Chief Compliance Officer to promote, facilitate, implement, monitor and assess compliance with compliance requirements; and to facilitate the identification and management of compliance risks, relevant to the activities of Sun Life.

Responsibilities (heading) / Responsabilités (titre)

1. Compliance Program

• Assist the Business Unit Compliance Officer (BUCO) to develop, implement and monitor the risk based compliance plan covering relevant regulatory requirements as well as those under the organisation’s Compliance Risk Management Policy (CRMP).
  
• Implement CRMP baseline activities whilst balancing business priorities with the organisation’s governance, risk management and oversight requirements.
  
• Establish and maintain strong collaboration with other assurance parties and 1st line functions, to embed the three Lines of Defense model, and enhance business ownership of compliance risks.
  
• Assist in the implementation of regulatory requirements / changes in a timely manner.
  

2. Compliance Advisory and Training

• Advise first line functions on relevant compliance and regulatory matters under the CRMP.
• Review and approval of all marketing collaterals and press releases etc.
• Represent the Branch as the compliance subject matter expert in industry associations, and in Corporate / Regional meetings and workgroups.
• Review compliance related training contents (Privacy and Regulatory etc.) and conduct additional training where necessary.

3. Financial Crime

• Assist in the review of High-Risk AML cases escalated by 1 LoD.
• Assist in the review of potential suspicious transaction/s cases highlighted by the organisation’s transaction monitoring system and escalate suspicious cases to the BUCO for reporting purpose.

4. Projects

• Work with 1 LoD on updating and keeping the regulatory up to date.
• Work with relevant stakeholders on the HuBS One Broker experience project.
• Maintain and upkeep of Personal Data Inventory

• Maintain and refine a change management systems roadmap and quality mindset programs going forward for WW alignment and continuous improvement of equipment and change control practices.
• Partner with Fabs, SMAI, OCT, CPIE, TD, and IT to ensure all business needs and processes are properly documented, validated, and escalated as needed.
• Provide technical leadership and direction
• Evaluate global needs for new change control and risk assessment systems.
• Cultivate global relationships. Support and mentor quality engineering teams worldwide by providing guidance.
• Work with subject matter experts to identify business process gaps and Best Known Methods (BKMs).
• Evaluate the quality of data collected, drawing conclusions based on this data and initiating follow-up action items.
• Present and discuss in depth all projects with respective key stakeholders.
• Demonstrate good project management, presentation, organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Demonstrate being a "Team builder" with strong focus on effective team dynamics and distributed responsibilities.
• Develop eventual reports, identifying their strengths and weaknesses and creating an action plans to work on the areas each individual needs to improve on.
