THE ROLE 

As our Marketing Lead, you can choose to work on-site at our Singapore office or remotely, with occasional travel to Singapore as needed. The Director, Travel Vertical lead will be a part of the Acceptance team within the Merchant Sales and Acquiring (MS&A) hub organization. This is a team of thought leaders and execution-focused specialists who deploy acceptance growth initiatives and seller-side solutions to catalyse acceptance growth across Asia Pacific. The team is also the regional co-ordination point and interface into the global verticals and segments and drives the overall strategy for multiple initiatives to grow Visa’s acceptance footprints.

As a key member of this team based in Asia Pacific, you will be the business lead responsible for identifying and delivering on opportunities within the Travel vertical with client segments such as airlines, hotels and other travel partners/enablers. You will leverage your deep domain expertise of travel and payments to help grow Merchant Sales & Acquiring opportunities through enhancing customer experience, optimizing payment performances and driving revenue growth for both the clients and Visa. This role will report to Head of Acceptance in AP.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Build, own and drive Visa’s Travel segment strategy for merchants, acquirers, and enablers across the Travel value-chain in Asia Pacific.
• Be the subject-matter-expert to grow Visa acceptance, cobrands opportunities, acceptance solutions and various payment flows with travel merchants (eg: airlines, hotels, OTAs) as identified in the regional Travel strategy.
• Engage with ecosystem players including airlines, hotels, aggregators, travel enablers, travel associations, GDS and others to identify and build opportunities/partnerships to grow Acceptance in Travel, update on trends and obtain industry feedback.
• Collaborate with key partners - both internal and external – in defining and executing Visa’s Travel Acceptance strategy in the region, Specifically, this includes building compelling sales collateral, developing a sales pipeline, co-pitching with respective Account Executives, partnering with Product teams to define appropriate products/services, Portfolio Optimization and building commercial arrangements where required.
• Front client engagements on relevant products/solutions such as Co-Brands, CyberSource, Tokenization etc and articulate Visa value proposition in Travel customer-centric language
• Increase Visa share of processed volume and grow Visa revenue (from core and Value-added Services) in the Travel vertical
• Be a thought leader and champion of innovation by staying current with industry trends, representing Visa in Travel forums and market activities as a subject matter expert
• Work closely with marketing and respective Global/Regional Travel teams (including VCS, VCA) where required to evolve the Visa value proposition, products, and platforms globally to meet client/market needs in this ecosystem and drive future growth.

Responsibilities: (A) Governance Framework, Roles & Operationalisation Actively drive the Enterprise-wide Data Governance strategy, the data governance framework and policy, incorporating best practices and industry standards. The framework should ensure that the data assets across the organisation are clearly defined, owned, stewarded, distributed and consumed in accordance with its data governance policy, principles and standards. Facilitate working groups and governance forums (Data Governance Panel & Senior Management Committee (Data)) to ensure well running and effectiveness. Establish and govern an enterprise data governance implementation roadmap including enterprise level Data catalogues, data access frameworks and data quality tools for different critical data assets. Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the company's principal information assets. Serve as a liaison between Business and Functional areas and technology to ensure that data related business requirements for protecting sensitive data are clearly defined, communicated and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritisation and planning. Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality standards, data protection standards and adoption requirements across the enterprise. Design data quality checks and metrics for key systems and critical data elements to assess data health and detect deficiencies and improvement with our data sources or internal data processes. Work hand in hand with compliance, contracts, and legal teams to ensure a thorough understanding of the regulatory and/or contractual obligations related to the usage of data . Support education and communication strategy & initiatives to raise the awareness of data quality obligations across the Firm as well as the overall data literacy and data control obligations to enable intelligent workforce. Stay abreast of new and evolving business requirements and market trends in order to align our data capabilities and content with business needs developing and continuously improving and expanding coverage of capabilities by monitoring progress through KPI's (B) Governance Artefacts and Data Inventory Enforce data standards with businesses for each data category and help build reusable Business Glossary for each category. Develop & maintain inventory of the enterprise information maps (data assets and lineage), including authoritative systems, platform & data owners and data consumers. Support the definition, UAM (user access management) principles and guidance to ensure proper segregation of duties and authorized data access and sharing across Temasek and with third party vendors and consultants. Partner with engineering on data model and testing workflows to keep metadata repository, business glossary and Quality inventory and current. Provide recommendation on corrective actions and develop remediation strategies to improve adoption of data quality standards and best practices. Requirements: Degree in Information Technology, Business Computing, Data Analytics or related disciplines with at least 10 years of working experience in the banking industry, or consulting industry with strong exposure to Financial Services. At least 10 years of working experience where at least 5 years of hands-on experience in data governance and data quality related projects in finance, investment and banking industry. Extensive knowledge and understanding of Data Governance discipline, especially on financial industry best practices and across the regulatory landscape. Expertise on any of the Data Governance related tools and landscape, working experience with data quality tools (e.g. Information Data Quality) and BI tool (e.g. Tableau) would be a plus. Sound knowledge to manipulate and analyze complex, high-volume and high-dimensionality data from various sources. Good understanding of data design and architecture principles. Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills. A strong work ethic as a team player who is detailed and deadline oriented. Ability to thrive in a fast paced, highly challenging environment.
