We’re looking for a detail-oriented Regional Revenue and AR Accountant to join our Finance team. This position will be responsible for managing revenue accounting and account receivable processes, with a key focus on revenue recognition and bad debt provision, reconciliation of unbilled revenue, deferred revenue accounts and customer deposit. This is a full-time position based in Singapore, and will report directly to the Regional Financial Controller.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Collaborate and work closely with cross-functional teams to address and resolve revenue-related issues, assess whether performance obligation is satisfied and ensure accurate and timely recognition of revenue in compliance with IFRS 15
• Accrue unbilled revenue and reconcile to ensure unbilled revenue account is tightly controlled
• Conduct periodic reconciliation to ensure the unbilled revenue account is tightly controlled
• Enable business teams to collect outstanding balance, oversee the arrear recovery process and work with the business teams to assess collectability and provide the special bad debt reserve
• Prepare revenue-related and bad debt provision journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the month-end closing process
• Maintain customer deposit listing and other ad-hoc duties (e.g., providing insightful analysis for management, support internal and external audits by preparing and delivering necessary revenue-related documentation)

Who We Are Looking For?

• At least 3 years regarding revenue/billing/credit & AR scope such as Revenue Analyst/Revenue Controller/General Accountant
• An experienced finance individual who has a business partnering mind and has worked in a cross functional organization with close partnership with the Business units
• Strong understanding of application of IFRS 15 and Revenue Recognition Principles
• Comfortable with and able to cope with fast work pace, an ever-changing environment and ambiguity
• Strong accounting skill set who can be focused on overall A/R business cycle who can drive holistic improvements in the billing, A/R and collections cycle.
• Ability to look at A/R in the business context and drive analysis that will make internal processes more efficient and solve customer paint points while driving improvements to financials
• Ability to multi-task and look at overall business, account level issues, and provide improvement suggestions
• Ability to diagnose issues, communicate in focused manner and be able to work across finance and the business unit
• Strong communication skills (fluent in English)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Collection and Management:Gather and validate financial data from various sources, including internal systems and external databases.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Proven experience as a Data Analyst or Financial Analyst, with a strong understanding of financial principles and metrics.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, R).
• Experience with financial modeling and forecasting.

Senior Accountant - Reporting and Tax

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Month-End Closing Procedures:

• Execute all month-end closing procedures promptly, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting within third working day.
• Maintain and monitor accrual and prepayment schedules, making necessary adjustments and releases.
• Collaborate with other functional groups to analyse balance sheet movements and conduct in-depth operational expenditure (OPEX) analyses.
• Calculate taxes and deferred taxes in compliance with legal standards.
• Prepare a comprehensive monthly management reporting pack.

Bookkeeping and Accounting:

• Manage full bookkeeping and accounting responsibilities for the branch and smaller subsidiaries.

Compliance and Audit Requirements:

• Coordinate external and internal audits, ensuring adherence with legal standards and company policies.
• Prepare audited financial statements and liaise with auditors by providing necessary documentation.
• Handle tax computations, liaise with tax agents, and address queries from the Comptroller of Income Tax efficiently.
• Oversee the renewal and maintenance of the Major Exporter Scheme for GST purposes.
• Ensure timely submission of required surveys and reports to the Singapore Government.
• As the trade compliance officer, review the sanctioned list of customers/suppliers and make appropriate recommendations.

Workflow and System Enhancements:

• Identify and implement improvements in financial workflows and accounting systems to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Lead projects related to system enhancements, ensuring that financial operations leverage the latest technology for optimal performance.

Ad-hoc Responsibilities:

• Undertake additional tasks as required by the finance director or other superiors, which may vary according to the department's needs.

RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Minimum requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, with a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience in audit and commercial environments, with a strong background in financial reporting, tax, and compliance.
• Prior experience managing accounting functions for overseas branches or subsidiaries, especially in Taiwan, is highly valued.
• In-depth understanding of Singapore GST and other relevant tax regulations.
• Proficiency in SAP S4/Hana, SAP ECC and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Strong analytical abilities to assess financial data and make informed decisions.
• Organisational skills to manage complex financial processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of effective dialogue with auditors, tax agents, and internal stakeholders.
• Fluent in English; Mandarin proficiency is advantageous for dealings with the Taiwan branch.
• Ability to function both as an individual contributor and team player and comfortable working in a fast-pace work environment.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for a Senior Accountant, Corporate Accounting SEA&I (Southeast Asia and India) who will be part of the SEA&I Record-to-Report team to ensure complete, accurate and timely financial reporting and maintain an effective internal control environment.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

You will ensure timely and accurate month-end closing across SEA&I territory and will drive continuous improvements in the efficiency and effectiveness of the team’s accounting and financial reporting processes. This will also involve working closely with our Managed Service Provider for accounting transactions.

You will develop high profile, influential and collaborative relationships across teams, functions, and layers of the business. In addition, you may engage with internal Country Controlling teams, Finance, Legal, Tax and other cross functional teams to analyse process impact, to drive necessary changes in supporting business initiatives and efficiencies.

You will also be part of the team managing local statutory filings and audits and collaborate with internal and external auditors and tax advisors on tax related work such as corporate income tax, consumption (indirect) tax, transfer pricing related matters and local tax audits.

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?

This role directly reports to Manager – Corporate Accounting, SEA&I. In addition to working closely with the SEA&I Finance team, you will also work closely with our broader Nike SEA&I team. Effective and timely communication between Nike SEA&I, APLA Geography teams and business partners are a critical piece to this role, and this will give you a great opportunity to learn our end to end business process with broader business key stakeholders. You will also interact with various service providers who we partner with in driving various initiatives or audits.

WHAT YOU BRING TO NIKE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting required, preferably with CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum 4 years of progressive experience with public accounting firms and/or multi-national companies desired
• Knowledge of US GAAP, local GAAP and SOX required and experience with SAP is preferred
• Experience working with or in a Managed Service Provider environment would be highly preferred, as will process mapping, centralisation or standardisation experiences
• Ability to translate business requirements into operationalisation with considerations for financial risks and controls across end-to-end processes.
• Demonstrate good communication and influencing skills on complex accounting requirements.
• Proven track record of working independently, leading and prioritising against multiple priorities, while delivering results with high quality.
