Main responsibilities

This is a rare, multi-disciplinary role for a motivated & high-performing individual looking to work in fast-growing areas of legal practice. The two main areas of practice for the successful candidate are:

• M&A transactional matters, typically on a cross-border basis, including drafting transaction documents, conducting due diligence and conducting research on legal and regulatory issues; and
• International sanctions, including advisory work, conducting due diligence, handling delisting applications, preparing and managing applications for specific licences and to release blocked funds.

Attributes / skills required

• 2 to 4 years PQE, at highly-regarded law firm(s).

The Department acts as the centralised control point for credit matters in SG. The Department’s primary responsibilities are credit risk monitoring and control to ensure the overall soundness of the credit portfolio and reporting credit-related matters to MAS, Branch Management or Head Office. Other functions include organizing credit committee meetings, maintenance of credit related rules and procedures, conducting credit training and study sessions for credit and marketing officers and KYC planning.

Responsibilities:

• Support internal and external audits within the department by preparing documentation as required
• Maintain good working knowledge of industry trends, products, relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements:

• 1 year of experience in credit risk or reporting
• Knowledge in Banking products and credit risk
• Familiarity with MAS IWST (credit), MAS credit-related reports/surveys and IFRS framework will be an advantage
• Experience in using Microsoft skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Good analytical skills to interpret large and complex data sets and ability to identify implications of data sets.

Key Responsibilities:

Context:

Within the GEMS Business Unit, Business Platform (BP) APAC is responsible for GEMS activities in Asia Pacific & Middle East & aims at managing and developing the group’s trading activities for these regions around 4 main pillars: risk management and market access, asset management, green solutions and energy supply businesses. BP APAC as part of this expansion strategy for developing Asset Management business is looking to set up platform in India to support RGBU / group development and develop related commercial franchise. In planning for India, already opened last year in Japan.

For BP APAC, Japan & India will be the first time the BP is managing physical electricity. There will be a need to development tools, processes and skills around short term trader following the implementation of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) contract and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). There is an important Data related component.

There is a need to support the respective desk with Data (analysis, structure, integrity…) and processes (short term trading (Intraday + Day ahead).

Role:

Optimization Problem Solving:

• Develop, implement, and maintain optimization models to solve complex business problems (short term trading).
• Identify optimization opportunities within the business and design custom algorithms to address them.

Data Analysis and Modeling:

• Collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets from multiple sources.
• Build and validate predictive models using statistical, machine learning, and optimization techniques (BESS, PSP, …).
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that inform optimization strategies.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with stakeholders to understand business objectives, constraints, and requirements.
