What will you do?

• Use systems engineering approaches, we partner with the R&D/technical lead to guide the project team to research and develop life science systems to address sophisticated challenges and/or improve customers' workflow.
• We initiate and guide discussions with key partners to generate requirements
• We refine and manage requirements to ensure they are timely implemented at different stages
• We support the development team in feasibility studies and concept selection through concept testing activities
• We lead system integration activities to ensure a smooth and timely transition from design to operations
• We partner and support our regulatory affairs representative during product development to meet relevant ISO and FDA standards and guidelines
• We undertake and address vital tasks to achieve the product launch objectives

How will you get here?

Education / Experience

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronic or mechanical engineering field
• At least 5 years of R&D experience in either product design, medical device consumable development/manufacturing or systems engineering

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Experience in the field of Gene/Cell Therapy or relating instrumentations and technologies e.g. electrophoresis, electroporation etc. will be an added advantage.
• Experience in development and manufacturing of consumables for sterile use
• Knowledge in medical or cell/gene therapy regulatory standards are useful.
• Hands on ability with acute analytical and trouble shooting skills are vital to succeed in the role.
• Proficient in communication and collaborators’ management
• Work well with team members from a diverse set of backgrounds and teams.
• Proficiencies in general Engineering, instrument/consumables manufacturing subject areas.

Job Description

What will you do?

• Collaborate with a distributed team of engineers for innovative product design
• Derive product level requirements into system/sub system level functional requirements
• Design, develop and maintain embedded software for life science instruments
• Perform design and code reviews to ensure software quality
• Participate in test results review, root cause analysis and propose solutions
• Practice Software Configuration Management according to the project-specific software

Development plan

• Apply new technologies and software features to enhance performance and improve quality
• Maintain and align with ISO 13485 procedures and SOPs in the course of application development
• Ensure that systems and procedures are in compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 13845, ISO 14971, QSR21CFR and OHSAS 18001 requirements

To support R&D projects in the following activities

· SKU creation and AWR release for new parts.

· Creation part/assembly drawings (using SolidWorks). Convert 3D model into engineering drawing in accordance with standard and specification requirements.

· Support Electrical & Electronic function on creation of cable harness drawings.

· Create assembly process for work instruction transfer to engineering / manufacturing.

· Release and maintain the engineering drawings (mechanical / electrical) and BOM release into agile.

· Support in Bill of Materials (BoM) management for the NPI projects

· Support in jig & fixture design whenever required.

· Provide technical assistance and support project development builds whenever required.

· Support to maintain laboratory housekeeping and ensure to comply with EHS and 5S standard requirements.

Qualification

· Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic Engineering or other engineering related fields

Experiences

· Knowledge about jig & fixture design, drafting and engineering drawings, blue print, diagrams. Experienced working in R&D environment is preferably.

· Experience in PDM / PLM system such as agile or Oracle Cloud is an advantage.

Competencies Preferred

· 3D CAD knowledge/ experience (e.g. Solidworks / Pro) will be added advantage

· Resourceful with strong problem solving skills and ability to work independently

· Good spoken and written English skills

· Excellent communication and follow up skills
