RESPONSIBILITIES

• Data Collection: Large-scale data collection related to code ownership policies on GitHub.
• Data Analysis: Analyze collected data to identify usage patterns and impacts.
• Workflow Automation Programming: Develop an automation system for code ownership recommendations.
• Evaluation: Conduct system effectiveness tests and refine based on results.
• Documentation: Prepare reports and research papers on the project.

• Minimum Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or closely related disciplines.
• Proficiency in programming languages, with advanced skills in Python required and familiarity with JavaScript beneficial.
• Demonstrated experience in software engineering practices, including version control, code review processes, and secure coding practices, with a strong preference for candidates experienced with GitHub.
• Experience with workflow automation systems, such as GitHub Actions, is preferred.
• Experience with using APIs for data collection and analysis is preferred.
• Knowledge of data science methodologies and statistical analysis tools is preferred.

Job Scope:

• To coordinate and assist in the conduct of clinical research studies and trials
• Perform screening activities according to protocol eligibility criteria and assist in recruitment.
• Obtain proper written informed consent from each study participant prior to participation in the study.
• Schedule study visits as per protocol and ensure visit schedules are adhered to.
• Create any documents required for the successful conduct of a clinical research study or trial.
• Assist in data collection and maintain research data integrity.

• Research Planning and Implementation
  • Utilise JavaScript coding skills for customizing Qualtrics surveys and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of survey data.
  • Conduct thorough literature reviews on emerging technologies for longitudinal data collection (e.g. new technologies, releases, and patches that will enhance ROSA's work processes and services).

We will work with multipleuse cases so that we can abstract across them and develop generalized, reusable infrastructure. We will workwith specific customers so we can build useful applications on top of that infrastructure.You will contribute to the design and development of open-source software written to serve those use cases.You will work as part of a team of research engineers, developers, and domain expertise and you will beexpected to actively participate in team meetings and text-based communications. You will be expected to beactive members of the applied research community, by validating and contributing to advances incomputational law.

You may be asked to conduct use-inspired research at the direction of the Principal Investigator. This includes

• reading academic papers, standards publications, and related material such as blog posts and presentations;
• coming up to speed in fields which may be new to you, such as computational linguistics, mathematical logic, programming language design, formal verification, and model-based architecture;
• reading (and updating/commenting, relevant) existing software documentation;

You will be expected to participate in software development; this includes

RESPONSIBILITIES

Interdisciplinary research is necessary to address many of the key issues of our times. Unfortunately, there are significant barriers to interdisciplinary collaboration. These include, among others, differences in publication conventions and norms among disciplines, tenure and academic promotion processes favouring single-discipline research, and perceptions that interdisciplinary research is less rigorous than single-discipline research. While these challenges are likely to resonate with interdisciplinary scholars, there is a need to move beyond an evidence-base that is mostly anecdotal towards a systematic understanding of these practical challenges.

In this project, the Research Fellow will work together with Associate Professor Terry van Gevelt to identify and quantify practical challenges to interdisciplinary research using the field of energy studies as a vehicle. The successful candidate will possess a strong quantitative skillset and a demonstrated ability to problem solve.

Specifically, the Research Fellow will:

• Use web-scraping and textual analysis to generate a novel dataset
• Analyse the dataset using quasi-experimental methods
• Assist in the design and calibration of a choice experiment; and
• Make a significant contribution to the drafting of two research articles for submission to high-impact journals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The postdoctoral fellow will be involved in several activities, including

• Conducting research on social inequality (including gender);
• Design, execution, and coordination of experiments, field studies, and multi-lab projects;
• Publishing in reputable academic journals and practitioner outlets;
• Although no teaching is required, the postdoctoral fellow may assist in teaching and case writing on related topics.
• A proportion of the time can be dedicated to the postdoctoral fellow's own research projects.

• Completed PhD (Candidates who have completed and submitted their dissertation may also be considered) in management (or closely related field such as organizational behavior, human resources management, social psychology, applied economics, etc.);
• Excellent research capability as evidenced by a strong publication record and/or research pipeline.
• Prior research experience in social inequality-related topics (gender, power, status, etc.) is an advantage;
• Experimental design skills are required;
• Competence in advanced quantitative data analysis (SPSS, STATA, R, etc.);
• Interest and, ideally, some experience with crowdsourcing science, i.e. large projects involving numerous experimental manipulations or coordinating the contributions of a number of sub-teams;
• Ability to work both as part of a team and independently;
• Excellent oral and written communication in English;
• Expected to commence in june/july 2024.

• Assist in the scoping, preparation, review, and completion of the IPCC Special Report on Cities and Climate Change and play a key role in ensuring the scientific integrity and quality of the report.
• Support the planning, conducting, and reporting for the meetings and sessions organized by Working Group II, including IPCC Workshops and Expert Meetings and contribute to the scientific aspects of these meetings and sessions to facilitate informed decision-making.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of scientific plans related to the activities and products of the Working Group II.
• Assist in the reporting process for the scientific outcomes of meetings, sessions, and other relevant activities.
• Provide scientific support in the development of outreach materials related to the activities of the Working Group II and contribute to the creation of materials that effectively communicate scientific findings to various stakeholders.
• Take on additional responsibilities as allocated after the completion of the IPCC Special Report on Cities and Climate Change.

• Recent PhD holder or Masters degree in urban development, climate change impacts, socio-economic system analysis or a related field, with at least 2 years of work experience after conferment of Masters degree.
• Scientific publications in refereed journals;
• Experience working in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team;
• Experience in scientific report writing and editing;
• Ability to plan, organize and execute complex multi-task workloads;
• Proficient in oral and written English at the academic publishing level;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and capability to interact with international science and stakeholder community;
• Stress-resistance and ability to work precisely and effectively under time constraints;
• Willingness to travel internationally;
• Experience working with UN processes, in particular the IPCC, would be an asset.
