Automotive Technician (AMT / ECU Repair)

Location: Tuas (West)

Working Hours: 5.25 Days Work Week

• Mon to Fri (8.30am to 5.30pm)
• Alternate Saturday (8.30am to 12.30pm)

Remuneration Package:

• Basic up to S$ 4,000
• Performance Bonus (~3 months)

Job Responsibilities:

Our client is seeking for a skilled Technician specializing in the overhaul of Automated Manual Transmissions (AMT) and truck air components with a focus on Japanese models.

• Carryout maintenance, repair and overhaul work on heavy vehicles (AMT Transmissions) ensuring high standard of workmanship and minimize turnaround time for scheduled repairs and inspections to meet workshop’s service standards and according to job order
• To perform complete overhauls of Automated Manual Transmissions (AMT), including disassembly, inspection, component replacement, and reassembly to manufacturer standards
• To perform overhaul on truck air components such as air compressors, air brakes, and valves, ensuring proper functioning and compliance with safety standards
• Able to utilize the diagnostic tools to identify issues in transmission systems and air system for accurate repairs will be an added advantage.
• Collaborate with team members to resolve complex technical issues and implement solutions in accordance with company procedures
• Maintain detailed service records, including component testing, calibrations, and repairs
• Compliance with company safety protocols and procedures

Requirements:

• At least NITEC in Automotive Technology or relevant certification
• Preferably at least 3 years experience in component repair, troubleshooting and measuring (overhaul of Automated Manual Transmissions (AMT) and truck air components with a focus on Japanese models)
• Preferably with Class 3 & 4 Driving License

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Conduct site surveys and provide advice on vehicle concerns.
• Perform troubleshooting and attempt site recovery during breakdowns.
• Submit comprehensive reports post-recovery for documentation.
• Support equipment testing, diagnosis, and test environment setup.
• Install On-Board Units (OBU) on vehicles when required.
• Collaborate with teams on project execution and ensure operational readiness.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Minimum Nitec in Automotive, Engineering, or equivalent field.
• Possession of a Class 3 driver’s license.
• Fresh graduates or those recently out of NS are welcome (training provided).
• Ability to carry heavy vehicle parts and work in tight spaces.
• Candidates from the automotive industry or with direct experience preferred.
• Able to perform hands-on tasks.

Additional Information:

• Salary: Attractive compensation with performance-based increments and OT pay.

Technician (Heavy Vehicle)

Location: Tuas (West)

Responsibilities:

• To perform all basic troubleshooting and basic diagnostics
• To carry out Service Maintenance on the trucks including
• To ensure Utilization, Efficiency and Productivity is achieved
• To record repair time and detail of repair in the Work Order
• Adhere to Warranty Process and Procedures
• Ensure good housekeeping of work bay
• Accountable for all tools and equipment handling and usage
• Ethical compliance of genuine parts replacement and service rendered according to the checklist and scope of works
• Ensure all service and repairs are performed thoroughly and in accordance to good quality practice
• Lead by example to ensure high level of Health & Safety performance within the area of responsibility.
• To attend to breakdown where necessary
• Any other duties assigned by immediate superior

Requirements:

• At least a Certificate or NITEC in Automotive Technology
• Preferably possess a valid Class 3 / 4 / 5 driving license (Singapore)
• Preferably at least 2 to 4 years of working experience in servicing and repairing heavy trucks
• Basic knowledge in vehicle Principles and Concepts
• Good knowledge in advanced engine, transmission and brake systems
• Ability to read vehicle electrical circuit diagrams
