Your responsibilities encompass the installation and ongoing maintenance of IT systems on our client's ships, aligning with our company's established standards and adhering to industry best practices. In this role, extensive global travel is required to visit our fleet across the world, performing onboard maintenance and troubleshooting. To excel in this position, a comprehensive understanding, practical experience, and expertise in managing various Ship IT systems are essential. Moreover, you must be capable of validating and enhancing the underlying data as necessary.
You will be tasked with:
1. Installing and maintaining ship communication systems, such as VSAT and Fleet Broadband.
2. Overseeing business email and crew welfare communication software.
3. Managing Planned Maintenance Systems, preferably utilizing ShipNet One.
4. Handling Vessel Procurement and positioning Systems, also preferably ShipNet One fleet module.
5. Ensuring the proper operation of Vessel Safety Management Systems.
6. Managing Vessel Crew Management applications.
7. Maintaining vessel cyber security.
8. Supervising various other ship IT systems.
In addition, you should possess the capability to:
- Analyze data interconnections between independent systems for the purpose of integration.
- Extract reports from the underlying databases.
- Assess data validity and make necessary corrections.
Qualifications for this role include:
- Holding a degree in a relevant field.
- Possessing a minimum of 8 years of pertinent experience in Ship IT system management, including troubleshooting and supporting computer applications and operating systems.
- Demonstrating proficiency in Planned Maintenance Systems, including their implementation.
- Possessing a preferred background in marine engineering and sailing.
- Exhibiting strong administrative control over ship machinery, job scheduling, running hours monitoring, inventory management, and updating databases.
- Having expertise in managing vessel cyber security applications.
- Demonstrating familiarity with procurement systems on board vessels, monitoring ShipNet Fleet, and addressing database synchronization issues.
- Proficiency in extracting reports using available reporting modules, working with Safety Management Systems, and customizing reporting formats.
- Possessing knowledge of ship networking, Fleet Broadband Communication, and email systems, with the ability to troubleshoot related issues.
- Being proactive, well-organized, and results-oriented.
- Having the capability to work effectively under tight deadlines and as a collaborative team member.
