Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following experience, knowledge and skills:
- Minimum degree in any discipline from a good institute
- General Insurance certifications
- At least 5 years of working experience in the insurance industry in Singapore
- Strong technical underwriting, good interpersonal, team working and communication (written and verbal skills)
- Good work attitude hardworking, self-motivated, and sound judgement
Job description
The successful applicant will:
Daily:
- Handle queries from assigned agents
- Study all new insurance proposals/amendment requests from agents
- Collect background information, assess risks/requests, decide and calculate premiums payable
- Sending out timely quotations/requests and negotiate the terms with the intermediaries
- Propose solutions to intermediaries on any issues encountered
- Prepare bond assessment risk forms
- Liaise and seek approvals from underwriters on the referral risks & those not within authority
- Liaise with Operations team with instructions for issuing of new documents
- Check that documents issued by the Operations teams are in order before sending to agents
- Keep detailed and accurate records of documents underwritten and decisions made
- Ensure the signed LOIs for Bonds are properly signed and returned
- Liaise with other departments to ensure intermediaries‘ requests on documentations/collections are met
- Other assignments or responsibilities as assigned.
Weekly:
- Conduct simple CPD trainings for agents as assigned
Monthly:
- Ensure renewal notices are sent out promptly
- Send renewal notices to agents
- Follow up on status of renewals before their expiry
Quarterly:
- Update assigned agents on their productions
Ad-hoc:
- Issue cover notes and LOIs for Bonds
- Issue cancellation letters to Insureds on agents‘ requests
- Monitoring and following up with collection of premiums from agents
- Meeting/visits to intermediaries‘ offices, updating them on their productions and any new business opportunities
- Work with team members to follow up on annual GIA Agency Renewals/Payments
- Any other ad-hoc duties assigned.
