• Ensure accuracy of tax provisions for Group entities in Singapore and other jurisdictions as required at monthly, quarterly and semi-annual financial reporting cycles.

Tax Advisor Liaison

• Assist to communicate with the Group’s external tax advisors to ensure compliance with tax filing requirements and delivery of tax advisor assignments on agreed timelines, quality level and fees.

Budgeting and Forecasting

• Prepare and maintain tax budget and forecast information for both tax provisioning and tax cash flows in cooperation with Financial Planning and Analysis team.
• Determine and inform the tax team and management team of tax impacts from changes to forecasts and business scenarios.

Ad-hoc assignments

• As and when assigned by Head of Tax and other tax team members.

Job Requirements

• Chartered Accountant (CA) or member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) with degree in accountancy or equivalent qualification.
• At least 3 years of relevant tax and accounting experience in a MNC and/or in a public accounting firm specialising in tax.
• Experience in IFRS reporting and preparing tax returns for Singapore is a must.
• Experience in preparing tax returns for countries outside Singapore is a strong advantage.
• Strong proficiency in English (both written and spoken) is a must.
• Proficiency in Mandarin (both written and spoken) is an advantage.
• Effective working knowledge of Microsoft Office/365 applications, particularly Excel and Word, is a must.
• Proficiency in Oracle financial system is an advantage.
• Experience in identifying and suggesting improvements to tax reporting and compliance processes through IT and other tools is a strong advantage.

Maran Ship Supplies Pte. Ltd., part of the Angelicoussis Group, is looking for a Deputy Head of Purchasing.

This role is based in Singapore.

Objective: The critical role of the Deputy Head of Purchasing is to ensure the efficient and timely procurement of supplies for vessels within the Group’s fleet. The individual may have to deputise for the Head of Purchasing when required.

Responsibilities:

• Vessel Management:
  • Manage procurement for various types of vessels in the Group’s fleet, including bulk carriers, crude carriers, and LNG vessels;
  • Monitor the trade patterns of vessels and optimize their supply schedules across global ports;
• Procurement Process:
  • Liaise with vessels and shoreside departments to understand procurement and supply needs;
  • Screen quotations from global suppliers, evaluate offers and conditions, and assist in assigning orders to selected suppliers;
• Supply Chain Management:
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of supplies to vessels;
  • Handle operational issues and logistics constraints within the end-to-end supply chain function;
  • Coordinate with suppliers to manage logistical operations for vessel supply;
• Cost Optimization:
  • Identify economic ports based on alternative vessel routes to optimize costs in the supply chain;
  • Continuously monitor purchasing operations and propose adjustments to improve supply chain performance;
• Supplier Management:
  • Identify and negotiate with new suppliers for optimization of efficiency;
  • Efficiently manage inventory for vessel supplies in the company's warehouse in Singapore;

• Port Logistics:
  • Handle port logistics issues that may arise during the supply chain process;
  • Occasional visits onboard vessels calling in Singapore to evaluate inventories and delivery of vessel supplies;
• Vessel’s attendances:
  • Visiting vessels during their stay at Singapore anchorage at least twice a week to perform purchasing audits and assist our HSQE / Operation / Spares & Inventory departments for vessels ISM / ISPS / MLS and RightShip inspections.
• When Deputizing the Head of Purchasing:
• Requisition Review and Approval:
  • Review incoming requisitions and guide the purchasing team on sourcing supplies, considering internal and regulatory requirements;
  • Approve requisitions, taking into consideration vessel maintenance activities, age, and regulatory requirements;
• Supplier Assignment and Negotiation:
  • Assign orders to selected suppliers;
  • Evaluate and negotiate commercial terms and procurement strategies;
• Logistics Handling:
  • Handle port logistics issues that may arise during the absence of the Head of Purchasing;
• Flexibility:
  • Be flexible to perform other duties as assigned, and reporting relationships may vary;
• Qualifications:
• Vessel Operations Understanding:
  • Direct experience as a Ship Captain provides an in-depth understanding of vessel operations, including the specific needs, challenges, and priorities of the crew on board.
• Cultural Awareness:
  • Experience with Greek crews provides cultural awareness and understanding, crucial for effective communication and relationship-building with the crew members.
• Company Policy Alignment:
  • Having served on the vessels, the Deputy Head of Purchasing would have an inherent understanding of the company's policies, ensuring alignment and compliance in procurement activities.
• Mentality of Crew Members:
  • Familiarity with the mentality and preferences of the Greek crew on board allows better decision-making in sourcing supplies that meet their specific needs and preferences.

REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma from a local Polytechnic or minimum Higher NITEC
• Proficient in MS Office
• Open to fresh graduates (diploma/higher NITEC)
• Experience in SAP is an added advantage
• 2 year administrative experience is advantageous

• Provide chauffeur service to Chairman and management staff as and when required.
• Assist in running errands when required.
• Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of vehicle.
• Perform other ad-hoc duties when assigned.

Requirements:

• N Level and above.
• Possess a class 3 driving license and able to drive luxury car.
• At least 2 years of relevant working experience with good driving records.
