Key Responsibilities:

• The successful candidate will be expected to help manage our mouse colony (implementing and managing complex breeding regimes, weaning, time-pregnancies, surgeries, tail clipping etc.).
• The candidate will be expected to perform these tasks independently after the requisite training has been given.
• In addition, candidate will assist research fellows with performing standard lab work and experimental mouse procedures, including tissue processing, histology and cell culture, as well as contributing to general lab tasks.

Key Requirements:

• Degree in Biological Science and Life Science disciplines or equivalent.
• Prior experience in working with mice is highly advantageous, but not essential.
• Successful candidates should have a passionate enthusiasm for research, be self-motivated, highly organized, enjoy working as a team and have good communication skills.

JOB DESCRIPTION

ISCE2 is looking for a highly motivated candidate with great interpersonal skills to join Lab and Facilities Division. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to ISCE2 by the following:

1. Upkeep and ensure good lab housekeeping for designated laboratories, sufficient supplies of common chemical and laboratory consumables (including procurement) etc.
2. Lab ambassadors to promote sustainable lab operations and greening of laboratories.
3. Ensure common equipment functionality and its operation within required limits by internal and external preventive maintenance.
4. Initiation and coordinate disposal of unwanted, obsolete chemicals and generated waste in designated laboratory.
5. Ensure all new laboratory personnel receive laboratory induction and specific lab operational procedures before they commence work in the lab.
6. Ensure lab occupants (i.e., staff and students) comply with general laboratory safety rules. Communicates information on identified hazards and precautions to all lab users.
7. Initiate and coordinate all necessary corrective actions to rectify safety discrepancy found in the lab.
8. Maintain up-to-date chemical inventory and ensure Safety Datasheet (SDS) for chemicals are readily available for respective laboratories.
9. Coordinate the compilation and maintain laboratory documentation (equipment manuals, equipment standard operating procedures, maintenance records and inventory record of regulated chemicals).

JOB REQUIREMENT

• Diploma or degree related to chemical engineering or equivalent.
• Prior work experience in a laboratory is not a requirement but an added advantage.
• Team player with initiative, drive and good communication skills.
• Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.

• Willing to work on all ISCE2 sites including main site at Jurong Island (Shuttle buses are available at various locations for commute into and out of Jurong Island site).

The selected candidate will conduct R&D in an IAF-PP project to develop new delivery platform for targeted delivery of bio-based anticancer reagents to tumors.

Job Responsibilities

• Synthesize and characterize polymers for biomedical applications
• Fabricate and characterize crosslinked hydrogels/microgels.
• Develop manufacturing processes including optimization of processing parameters.
• Communicate and work with collaborators at NUS and NUH in biological testing of microgels/hydrogels
• Perform material characterizations and testing.
• Prepare technical reports for technical disclosures, patents, and publications

Job Requirement

• Diploma in organic chemistry or material (polymer engineering) engineering
• Having strong analytical skills (applying scientific rules and analytical methods) to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions/approaches to problems
• Basic understanding of chemical characterization techniques including NMR, UV-Vis, and FTIR
• Experiences in characterizations and testing of polymers, such as DSC, GPC, TGA and rheology
• Familiarity with design software
• Good written and communication skills
