Group Management Reporting

• Owner of Group Management reporting system, policy and process to ensure business performance reporting package are presented timely and perform relevant analysis to facilitate the business decision making process.
• To set up a sustainable new Group Reporting Template and data base to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Group analysis in future.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiencies and effectiveness of Apical management reporting system, this includes periodic review of relevant policy and SOP to ensure they are updated and applied.
• Engage with back office team on a regular basis to align the reporting expectation. Meanwhile, to provide periodic update of business development to ensure the team has sufficient knowledge to perform the job.

Group Financial Planning Analysis

• Analyze and integrate all business segment performance as well as forecast on monthly basis.
• Lead annual strategy and budget process together with all business segments’ leadership teams
• Identify, report and monitor key value drivers of the business for monitoring purpose particularly from group finance perspective e.g. Investment return, capex spending control, cash flow, key TDCC cost control, working capital Etc on top of the key business drivers.

Leadership

• Proactive in managing team engagement, performance review and development plan of the staff, this include arranging relevant small group discussion and training to the team. We are emphasizing on more FPA and digital related training to build world class finance team for long term
• Engage and work closely with all business segments / business units and controllers as well as FAT team to align the financial performance parameter and expectation of Apical Group
• Develop finance talent to fulfill key succession plan as key target

Job Requirements:

• At least 15 years of strong working experience, experience in manufacturing / commodity environment (agriculture trading/supply chain and plantation) is an advantage
• Managerial experience of not less than 10 years. Proven strong managerial and leadership qualities
• Someone with strong control mindset.
• Professional accounting qualification including ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW and/or CPA will be highly preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to develop and motivate a team

We are seeking an Manager, Risk to join our Palm business. The ideal candidate must bring a proven track record of successfully leading a team in the realm of Commodities risk management. The role involves comprehensive oversight of risk across commodity, FX and counterparty credit exposure.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage commercial and market risk management for Apical’s palm oil processing, trading and distribution businesses - including, but not limited to price, forex, credit and counterparty risk
• Strengthen and manage the trading & market risk control interface with the traders and related functions including execution, middle office, and finance
• Oversee the daily monitoring of risk limits (position, VAR, drawdown etc) as well as manage reporting of P&L, including business analysis and commentaries on the P&L drivers
• Strengthen processes relating to daily P&L preparation to monitor business performance and ensure its accuracy, including improving current VAR implementation
• Drive improvement of risk management processes including review of current risk policies and implementing new digital systems where appropriate.

• Degree in Accounting and professional accounting qualification
• Have at least 10 years regional strategic financial management experience from similar or agri/commodities companies

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Tax Manager to plan and implement the organization’s tax strategies, optimizing the Group’s tax payables and ensuring compliance with relevant local and international tax laws and regulations. This role involves managing tax operations for both upstream and downstream Business Groups across multiple regions, including Malaysia, Singapore, China, Spain, and the United Arab Emirates (Dubai).

Key Responsibilities:

• Tax Operations Management:
  • Collaborate with the Senior Tax Manager to oversee Group’s tax operations, consolidating tax issues from onshore entities managed by respective onshore Tax Managers.
  • Ensure compliance with taxation laws and regulations, including timely and accurate tax filings and payments, while adopting appropriate tax positions.
• Compliance and Advisory:
  • Manage relationships with external service providers for direct and indirect tax compliance, transfer pricing compliance, and tax accounting services.
  • Lead annual tax budget planning and preparation with the respective Head of Finance.
  • Review and compile VAT forecasts, monthly withholding tax returns, and consolidated tax payment reports.
  • Oversee corporate income tax and deferred tax calculations for offshore companies for annual audits.
  • Prepare the annual GTP survey report and monitor GTP covenants compliance.
• Tax Planning and Strategy:
  • Provide tax advisory support to business units and support functions, collaborating with Legal, Treasury, Finance, and Accounting teams to meet strategic and operational tax objectives.
  • Support major M&A transactions and other strategic initiatives as part of the Corporate tax team.
• Legislation and Risk Management:
  • Manage tax legislation and controversy developments, driving lobbying efforts and communicating legislative and judicial changes to internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with Group tax controls and procedures, working collaboratively within a globally integrated tax function.

Requirements:

• At least 12+ years of relevant tax experience, with a focus on tax operations.
• Strong background in corporate income taxes, income tax accounting, indirect taxes, and transfer pricing.
• Experience in a multinational enterprise and Big 4 experience is preferred.
• Strong business acumen, commercial outlook, and risk awareness.
• Hands-on approach with attention to detail and flexibility.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage laterally with tax colleagues from different jurisdictions.
• Familiarity with tax regimes and DTA treaties in the Asian region, China, UAE, and Europe.
• Excellent communication skills in Mandarin are required to support the China market and liaise with Mandarin-speaking internal and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of the palm oil or plantation or manufacturing industry is advantageous.
• SAP system knowledge is an added advantage.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare and present monthly and quarterly statutory financial reporting review and analysis
• Liaise with auditor, tax team and legal/company secretary team on timely statutory filing with government agency and meeting internal deadline for Group/entity reporting
• Provide support through annual audit process, including drafting and reviewing of entity and Group financial statements which apply local and International Financial Reporting Standards
• Ensure timely provision of financial information and business data to banking/treasury team for credit review, syndicated loan and bilateral facilities financing
• Involve, coordinate and provide guidance in Group consolidation tasks
• Review and analyse accounting data (entities and Group) and highlights issues for management review
• Manage and control Group and entities period end activities (including review data from entity level
• Assist in performing statutory to management reconciliation and identify and explain the reasons for adjustments
• Provide support to tax team for tax planning and tax budget for the Group/entity
• Assist and perform monthly book closing of entities within the Group
• Other ad-hoc assignment as and when assigned

Requirements:

• Preferably 4-5 years’ experience in group consolidation, prior audit experience preferred
