The Merchandising Executive implements the merchandising plans and product category strategies as well as managing partner relationships. He/she also contributes to the development and sourcing of products in accordance with allocated budgets. The Merchandising Executive works in a dynamic environment where he/she keeps abreast of the changing consumer behaviour and merchandising trends. The Merchandising Executive is an energetic, creative, collaborative, and adaptable individual. He/she can operate well in a team-based environment under pressure and possesses in-depth insights on consumer consumption.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Administer purchase orders and payment process.

· Analyse cost of merchandise.

· Analyse customers' feedback on product categories.

· Analyse information on business environment and merchandising landscape.

· Analyse information on shoppers' profile.

· Analyse product sales, stock turnover rate and inventory level.

· Consolidate information to forecast merchandise demand.

· Contribute to new product design blueprints or mock-ups.

· Coordinate the development of patterns or mock-ups for new product designs.

· Design and guide the development of shopper marketing collateral.

· Engage in service innovation initiatives.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• Degree or Diploma in Business Administration or Finance & Accounting or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in merchandising in a sizeable company in a consumer or engineering industry
• Pleasant, eloquent with excellent communication skills
• Strong business acumen to partner with the sales/commercial teams to drive business profitability

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

· Attend to all sales enquiries, prepare quotations to meet customers’ needs

· Follow up with customers to close the deals (client list will be provided)

· Promote in-house products to customers from the backend

· Process invoices and follow through till payments are received

· Coordinate and work closely with Logistics team to ensure on time delivery and ensure customer satisfaction

· Coordinate and work closely with External Corporate Sales team to understand customers’

needs and problems

· Monitor sales of companies and devise plans to improve sales of companies with slowing sales

· Highlight companies with unusual sales pattern to the External Corporate Sales team and the management

· Understand market demands and trends, work with HODs to expand scope

Position Overview:

The Outdoor Sales Executive will be responsible for driving sales in the hardware sector by building strong customer relationships and identifying new sales opportunities. The role involves working closely with contractors, builders, and industrial clients to promote the company’s hardware products and meet sales targets. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of working independently in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales and Business Development:

· Actively seek out new sales opportunities by visiting potential customers in assigned regions.

· Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to secure repeat business.

· Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate hardware products or solutions.

· Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets and KPIs.

2. Customer Relationship Management:

· Conduct regular site visits to client locations, including construction sites, workshops, and other relevant environments.

· Provide after-sales support to clients to ensure satisfaction and foster long-term relationships.

· Handle customer complaints and feedback in a professional manner to maintain customer satisfaction.

3. Product Knowledge and Demonstrations:

· Stay updated on the full range of company hardware products and services, including tools, construction materials, machinery, and safety equipment.

· Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to prospective customers to highlight product features and benefits.

· Provide technical advice and support on product usage and maintenance.

4. Market Analysis and Reporting:

· Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify new opportunities for growth.

· Provide feedback to management regarding customer needs, product improvements, and market developments.

· Prepare sales reports and forecasts to track progress and identify areas for improvement.

5. Sales Administration:

· Maintain accurate records of sales visits, customer interactions, and sales progress.

· Assist with preparing quotations, proposals, and contracts for customers.

· Coordinate with internal departments, such as logistics and customer service, to ensure timely delivery of products.

Requirements:

· Nitec/Diploma/Degree in any field

· Some sales experience will be preferred
