General Description
The Air Pricing Specialist will work closely with APAC countries, Air Procurement, Regional Pricing counterparts, Key Account Management and Business Development on the pricing aspect of the RFQ.
Key Tasks
The individual is responsible for:
- Analyzing RFQ materials and quotation forms
- Working with Sales to understand bidding focus and pricing strategy while ensuring/clarifying that all conditions of the tender are satisfied. This includes also understanding the customer’s needs and pain points.
- Translate and cascade Lead/Regional Pricing Request into understandable RFQ Pricing Instructions for involved Country Pricing teams to work on
- Checking for completeness and correctness of country submissions
- Reviews and benchmark pricing received from the countries, with ability to negotiate with relevant counterparts to ensure competitive submissions to the customers.
- Comprehensive and accurate translation from internal pricing file to external customer file
- Ensure timely, competitive and complete submission of RFQ rate cards and other requirements to Pricing Lead/Sales.
- Monitor and follow up on bid status and results
- Support agreed pricing process, data quality and compliance
- Work together to ensure that KPI for Pricing Team is met
- Complete other tasks assigned by Manager
Requirements
- Bachelor degree holder;
- Minimum 3 years working experience in freight forwarding company and previous experience preferable from Tender Management or Pricing roles;
- Advanced Microsoft Excel capability;
- Experience in bidding process and independently managing the RFQ tender is preferred;
- Strong analytical mind ideally paired with operational experience to be able to quickly understand and challenge country bid input;
- Good project management skills to stay on top of multiple deadlines for multiple bids in parallel;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to properly engage with country pricing teams of different cultural backgrounds;
- Ability to maintain a positive work attitude under high pressure;
- Good command of Mandarin and be able to communicate with colleagues in mainland China.
