We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Product Designer to join our Digital Media Products Team. As the Lead Product Designer, you will play a crucial role in shaping and enhancing the user experience of our digital media

The Digital Media Products team is a highly collaborative unit, working on a variety of products and collaborating with cross-functional teams to create compelling and user-centric designs.

What you’ll do:

• Lead and manage a team of product designers, providing guidance and support in their design work.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and stakeholders, to align design goals with business objectives.
• Define and enforce design processes and best practices, ensuring consistency and efficiency in design workflows.
• Conduct user research and gather insights to inform design strategies and decision-making.
• Oversee the creation of wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs, ensuring they meet user needs and business requirements. Occasionally,step in to execution if needed.
• Advocate for user-centered design principles and promote a user-centric mindset within the organisation.
• Monitor and analyse user feedback and data to continuously improve the user experience.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, incorporating them into design strategies when appropriate.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to establish and drive the overall design vision and strategy for the organisation.

What you’ll need:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field: You should have a strong educational background in design or a related field.
• Minimum of 6-8 years of experience as a Product Designer: You should have a minimum of 6 years of experience as a Product Designer, with a focus on digital products.
• And at least 1-2 years of leading a team of UX/Product designers.
• Proven track record of designing and launching successful products: You should have a proven track record of designing and launching successful products, preferably in the media or technology industry. Your portfolio should showcase your design process, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. Experience in the media industry is a plus.
• Proficiency in UX design tools and methodologies: You should have proficiency in industry-standard UX design tools such as Figma, LottiesFiles or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Familiarity with user research methods, information architecture, and interaction design is also required.
• Strong leadership and communication skills: You should have strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively communicate design concepts and decisions to stakeholders. You should be able to inspire and motivate the design team to achieve outstanding results.
• Strategic mindset and business acumen: You should have a strategic mindset and a strong understanding of business goals and objectives.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

• As Product Manager, you will focus on one or more of our flagship media publications.
• You will move fast to refine clear scope and product requirements, question assumptions, identify
  issues where appropriate, and proactively identify and raise product risks.
• You will work to define and build critical experiences that will help us match customers with content they love.
• You will be a key player at the intersection of business and technology, supporting the growth through the successful creation and operation of our end consumer-facing
  features.
• You will interact with external partners and internal users, as well as interface with groups across the company.

As a Product Manager, you will...

• Define and execute the roadmap with clearly articulated and well-measured goals
• Identify, define, and execute projects that elevate the usability, novelty, and comprehensiveness of discovery pathways
• Drive understanding of how and where discovery initiatives can bolster content discovery and engagement.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with engineering, data science, UX, marketing, and other partner teams to create meaningful discovery experiences and delightful to consumers
• Collaborate across teams to optimize content classification, browsing, and conversion experiments and measure firmly understood hypotheses and business objectives.
• Plan and prioritize the backlog for development teams to ensure maximum value in deliverables.
• Interpret insights and business needs and transform them into detailed product requirements documents and user stories for engineering teams to execute.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in a technical, analytical, or related field
• 7+ years of total experience preferably in consumer product management in complex organizations.
• Strong communication skills - Can provide information to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike and guide them to confidently informed decisions.
• Strong execution skills to create high-standard product specifications, and product success metrics and drive product delivery through multiple teams
• Experience in data-driven hypothesis testing and experimentation
• Experience working with design teams to improve the user experience for customer-facing products/features.
• Strong team player and earns the trust of engineers and designers as an authority on customer needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide first-level technical support for our products, including troubleshooting and issue resolution.
• Monitor and maintain the operational status of the datacenter infrastructure.
• Respond to alerts and incidents in a timely manner, following established procedures and escalation paths.
• Perform routine datacenter operations tasks, such as equipment checks, environmental monitoring, and inventory management.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve technical issues and ensure service continuity.
• Document and report incidents, activities, and maintenance tasks according to standard procedures.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of support processes and datacenter operations.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Prior experience in a technical support role, preferably in a product support or datacenter operations capacity.
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including servers, networking, and storage systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a 24x5 shift environment, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems and ITIL best practices is a plus.
• Relevant certifications in IT support and datacenter operations are advantageous.
