We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Purchaser to join our team. The Senior Purchaser will play a pivotal role in managing our company's procurement process, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while maintaining quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, a deep understanding of supply chain management, and a proven track record of optimizing purchasing strategies to drive operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company objectives and budgetary constraints.
- Identify reliable suppliers and vendors, negotiate contracts, and maintain beneficial relationships to secure favorable terms and pricing.
- Monitor market trends and supplier performance to anticipate potential disruptions and proactively mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including department heads and project managers, to understand their purchasing needs and requirements.
- Conduct thorough vendor evaluations and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and ethical business practices.
- Oversee the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring accuracy and timely fulfillment of orders.
- Analyze purchasing data and metrics to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead cross-functional teams in implementing procurement best practices and standard operating procedures.
- Stay abreast of industry developments, emerging technologies, and new sourcing opportunities to enhance procurement capabilities.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior purchasing staff, fostering their professional development and growth within the organization.
Qualifications :
- Higher Nitec/Diploma/Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field
- Proven experience as a purchasing manager or senior procurement specialist, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of procurement principles, contract negotiation techniques, and vendor management best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems; experience with SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms is desirable.
