We are seeking an experienced and passionate Infant Care Principal to lead our dedicated team and oversee the daily operations of our infant care center.
Job Responsibilities:
As the Infant Care Principal, you will be responsible for:
Leadership & Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the infant care center, ensuring high-quality care and services for infants aged 2 to 18 months.
- Lead and manage a team of infant care educators, ensuring staff are well-supported, trained, and motivated to provide excellent care.
- Create a nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment that promotes the well-being and growth of infants.
- Develop, implement, and review infant care programs and activities that align with the center’s philosophy and regulatory standards.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with parents, addressing their concerns and keeping them informed of their child’s progress.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure the center complies with all licensing regulations, health, and safety standards.
- Implement policies and procedures to ensure the safety, hygiene, and security of infants and staff.
- Conduct regular safety checks and audits to maintain a clean, safe, and conducive environment for infants.
- Handle emergency situations calmly and effectively, ensuring the safety of all children and staff.
Curriculum & Development:
- Oversee the design and implementation of age-appropriate learning and development activities.
- Work closely with educators to evaluate and adapt programs to meet the developmental needs of each infant.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to educators in areas such as infant development, caregiving practices, and classroom management.
- Plan and implement professional development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Parent & Community Engagement:
- Build positive relationships with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on their child's progress and development.
- Conduct parent-teacher meetings, workshops, and events to foster a strong sense of community and partnership.
- Serve as the center’s representative to external stakeholders, including government agencies and community organizations.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education-Leadership (DECCE-L), Diploma in Infant and Toddler Care, or equivalent qualification.
- At least 5 years of experience in early childhood education, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role, preferably in an infant care setting.
- Strong understanding of infant development, care practices, and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a team effectively.
- First Aid certification (preferred).
