The technical team is an independent team of experts within IQ-EQ providing technical and regulatory assistance / advice to global client services teams, sales and implementation teams, and global clients within the Funds & Institutional segment.

The core part of technical team work is focused on 3 key areas:

1) Technical Advisory (technical accounting and PE/RE industry / regulatory related queries, technical support to sales and implementation team for new clients etc) ;

2) Technical Reviews (technical / quality reviews of financials, key accounting policies and other complex deliverables); and

3) Technical Updates (monitoring latest accounting, industry and regulatory updates. Issuing technical alerts for internal teams and clients. Delivering technical presentations and other specific training modules for accounting teams).

To facilitate the delivery of the 3 key areas effectively to the stakeholders, a technical team member will be at the forefront of the private equity and real estate fund industry developments, including but not limited to financial reporting.

As a team leader, you will need to resolve technical accounting queries raised by the Client Services (CS) team and clients in a timely manner, provide technical support to sales and implementation team for prospective and/or new clients

You will responsible for performing reviews on the working papers, financial statements and other complex client deliverables (including quality reviews), to help shape and ensure product quality control of the CS output. Whilst main focus is on IFRS and US GAAP, there are opportunities to develop experience in other GAAPs e.g. UK GAAP, Lux GAAP, Monitor latest accounting/ legislative changes impacting our clients and draft technical updates for accounting / legislative changes accordingly for release internally to CS teams as well as externally to global clients.

Job Summary:

We are actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Local Support Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in handling Windows environments and be well-versed in Microsoft technologies, including but not limited to Endpoint Management, Azure, Microsoft 365 (M365),  and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM). This role will focus on providing top-tier technical support, managing complex IT projects, and ensuring the seamless integration of Microsoft solutions within our organization. Experience in security audits, such as ISAE and ISO 27001, would be a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

End-User Support:

• Provide advanced technical support for end-users, addressing hardware and software issues in a Windows environment.
• Utilize Microsoft Endpoint Management for endpoint security, application deployment, and device management.

Microsoft Technologies:

• Administer and maintain Windows operating systems, ensuring optimal performance and security.
• Manage Microsoft 365 (M365) applications, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams.
• Implement and maintain Azure Active Directory for user authentication and access control.

Project Management:

• Lead and contribute to the planning, execution, and completion of complex IT projects, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and optimize Microsoft solutions.

Server and Network Support (Advantage):

• Demonstrate a basic understanding of server administration and network protocols.
• Collaborate with the infrastructure team on server and network-related tasks.

Documentation:

• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for IT processes, configurations, and Microsoft technology implementations.
• Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of support tickets and resolutions.

Security and Compliance:

• Implement and adhere to security best practices, especially in the context of Microsoft technologies.

The successful incumbent will be part of a group of individuals who will assist and support the wider Risk & Compliance framework within the Asia cluster, actively ensuring timely compliance with external and internal regulations to actively control and manage operational, regulatory, and reputational risks.

Part of your scope will include:

• Project Lead for a robust but proportionate structured Ongoing Client Screening Programme
• Project Lead for a KYC Remediation Programme for client serviced entities in Singapore and Hong Kong

Additionally, you will be required to collaborate and provide assistance and support for the
implementation of projects undertaken by the Risk & Compliance Team. This includes providing timely reports on projects to ensure necessary stakeholders are kept informed, actively participating in alignments with the Risk & Compliance initiatives and acting as POC for assigned projects.

You are expected to support on all aspects of regulatory and compliance requirements, stay informed of regulatory developments on the prevention of Anti-Money Laundering/Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT), assessing potential impact on the Company’s existing policies and procedures and implementing changes and enhancements to the Company’s internal control environment and risk framework to ensure compliance with regulatory and group standards.

In carrying out your role, you may be required to get involved in the following:

• Developing and executing a robust but proportionate structured Compliance Monitoring Programme
• Promoting and supporting an effective Compliance culture, through:

1. Identifying, monitoring and reporting regulatory risk within the business. To facilitate this all
2. regulation and guidance that is applicable to the entity must be recognised and documented.
3. Changes in regulation must also be identified and analysed in a timely manner;
4. Ensuring that applicable Compliance policies and procedures are kept up to date for changes in regulations and in regulatory expectations and that management and staff are kept apprised of such changes;
5. Keeping in close contact with the business and senior management, in order to be able to identify and advise on any compliance issues in a proactive and timely manner, ideally at the “embryonic phase” of business development;
6. Providing regulatory advice and guidance to the First Line (both client-specific and in respect of broader business initiatives) to ensure that regulatory compliance is maintained;
7. Assisting the operational areas to identify and embed key compliance related controls, including policies and procedures. Providing guidance on the proper application and interpretation of laws, regulations and policies applicable;
8. Reporting to the Board, GRC and other relevant stakeholders on a periodic basis and advising them of key regulatory risks emerging within the business in a formal context through the
9. production of Management Information ("MI"), KRIs or other standard reports;
10. Escalating, managing and reporting significant legislative breaches in an independent and
11. appropriate manner; and
12. Running training sessions on compliance-related matters to improve compliance awareness amongst First Line staff; and
13. Participating, as agreed, in Group and Local governance and oversight forums – e.g.
14. Acceptance, Continuation and Exit Committee (ACE), Country Risk & Compliance Committee (CRACC) etc.

• Manage a portfolio of clients and their respective MAS licence application projects
• Provide compliance advice to clients on MAS regulations 
• Address clients’ queries during calls and meetings
• Prepare and submit MAS licence application documents 
• Liaise and correspond with MAS on various matters

• Supervise and oversee junior team members and review their work product
• Review and draft compliance documents, frameworks and templates, covering all aspects of regulatory compliance
• Analysing and summarising MAS publications and regulatory updates

The successful incumbent will represent the first line of defence and be a key stakeholder in driving the AML/KYC function within the region. The scope of work will be completed in accordance with IQ-EQ’s internal AML/CFT framework, as well as international and domestic AML/CFT regulations and guidelines, across a wide spectrum of service offerings, both internal and external. This role will cover both fund administration and corporate segments.

Tasks

• Managing the AML/KYC team in Singapore.
• Act as subject matter expert and main point of contact to clients and internal departments, providing support and guidance on all AML/KYC matters where required.
• Perform client and fund investor due diligence for new & existing accounts in accordance with MAS and CIMA AML/CFT rules, along with internal policies and procedures to identify and mitigate any risks for the clients and IQ-EQ.
• Manage end to end process including kick off projects and coordination with clients, and all other relevant stakeholders within the IQ-EQ teams.
• Review and conduct source of wealth & funds corroboration of clients and investors in line with regulatory requirements.
• Familiar with AML/KYC requirements for individuals and different types of entities e.g., Companies, Limited Partnerships, Financial Institutions, VCCs, Trusts etc.
• Well-versed in Enhanced Due Diligence for high-risk cases including PEPs, Adverse Media, Sanctions, and other independent recommendations to mitigate identified risks.
• Provide support to the business during preparation of escalation processes to the Asia Leadership Team and/or Group Risk & Compliance.
• Assisting in contributing to the updating and documenting of processes and procedures in all aspects of the AML/KYC cycle.
• Lead any system development projects and ensure all team members are updating the necessary registers and databases in a timely and accurate manner.
• Preparation of Key Risk Indicators and other management reports.
• Assist with client and internal ad-hoc requirements from time to time which include but are not limited to process walkthroughs, internal audit, AML questionnaires and/or regulatory inspections.
• Leading training of new and existing joiners, and other colleagues covering areas such as remediation projects, latest regulations, change in operational processes and refreshers as and when required.
• Implementing and driving efficiency within the team, supervising tasks performed by team members.
• Contribute ideas and participate in transformation and change initiatives to drive continuous improvement to further enhance key deliverables.
