• Hires, coaches, reviews, supervises, and terminates assigned employees, or makes effective suggestions and recommendations that are given particular weight regarding the employment status of assigned employees.
• Schedules, assigns, and plans the work of carpentry shop personnel performing a variety of carpentry projects.
• Plans and develops work schedules, equipment usage schedules, priority of carpentry expenditures, and procedures for equipment maintenance.
• Estimates material and labor.
• Monitors the acquisition and use of materials.
• Maintains time, payroll, and material records, and submits reports.
• Trains or informs employees of new work methods or procedures, changes in safety regulations, work policies, construction codes, and the like.
• Ensures budgeting guidelines are met; prioritizes shop expenditures and assists in preparation of capital and operations budgets.
• Reviews plans and specifications for future buildings, and inspects new buildings to ensure quality work and code and specifications compliance.

• To liaise and collaborate with the Commercial Manager and Project Manager and construction teams in all aspects of our contractual activities. 
• Take ownership for maximising commercial results.
• To represent and serve the best interests of the company to meet client expectations and encourage repeat business. 
• To ensure optimum commercial return is achieved for the project. 
• Liaise with the estimators at hand-over. 
• Prepare the cost / value reconciliation reports accurately and in accordance with company procedure.
• Prepare and agree interim valuations at the agreed dates to gain the best commercial advantage for the company. 
• Prepare, and in conjunction with senior management agree final account with client’s representative.
• Manage Job specific procurement.
• Ensure sub contract orders are prepared in accordance with company procedure with reference to the date given on the procurement schedules and /or in accordance with the contract programme having achieved the appropriate approvals.
• Maintain control of sub contractor’s accounts and minimise the cost of any variations.
• Reviewing weekly productivity of teams.
• Monitoring / scrutinising of weekly costs and productivities, and reporting on same. 
• Highlighting areas of concern / loss on any part of the contract. 
• Monitoring of contract charges and notification to sub-contractors. 
• Sub-contractor re-measurement, interim and final account payments.
• Compiling the variation log and signing off on variations with Client Project Q.S. 
• Cost monitoring and reporting while attending all monthly cost reporting meetings.
• Cash flow forecasting for projects and issuing monthly reports to commercial manager.
• Working closely with Finance & Commercial in maximising profit on the contracts

• Inspecting construction sites regularly to identify and eliminate potential safety hazards.
• Supervising and instructing the construction team as well as subcontractors.
• Educating site workers on construction safety regulations and accident protocol.
• Enforcing site safety rules to minimize work-related accidents and injuries.
• Handling site accidents in accordance with established accident protocol.
• Maintaining an accurate record of construction employee attendance.
• Evaluating the performance of construction employees and instituting disciplinary measures as needed.
• Analyzing blueprints to ensure that construction projects meet design, safety, and budget specifications.
• Recommending changes to construction operations or procedures to increase efficiency.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Tender estimation and costing.
• Quantity take-off, estimation, cost planning, subcontracting, Variation Orders and Final Accounts with Clients.
• To review progress of all on-going projects and preparation of monthly progress claim submissions to Clients; as well as evaluates and prepare Subcontractors’ claims.
• Undertaking duties/assignments as and when appropriately assigned by the HOD/Superior.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in Structural / Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying
• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in Tender and Estimating Works.
• Able to read and understand Drawings well.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in estimating construction projects.
• Knowledge of Structural Steel works will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of Standard Conditions of Contracts and Sub-contracts.
• High proficiency with Microsoft office software in Excel and Word.
• With good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Can work under pressure.

Note: Working hours; 8am-525pm (Mon-Fri); 8am-12noon (Alternate Saturday off)

· Lead, manage, and mentor a team of workshop workers to achieve production goals and maintain quality standards.

· Plan and schedule tasks, ensuring optimal utilization of resources and adherence to production schedules.

· Coordinate with other departments, such as production planning and quality control, to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of orders.

· Monitor the production process, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions as needed to prevent delays and defects.

· Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations, maintaining a safe working environment for all team members.

· Train and onboard new recruits, ensuring they are familiar with workshop procedures, equipment operation, and safety protocols.

· Collaborate with procurement to manage inventory levels of raw materials, tools, and supplies required for production.

· Maintain accurate records of production activities, including quantities produced, downtime, and quality data.

· Implement and enforce company policies and procedures within the workshop.

· Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements.

· Report on production metrics, challenges, and opportunities to higher management.

Requirements:

· GCE “O” / “N” level

· At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.

· Proven experience in managing production schedules, optimizing resource allocation, and achieving production targets.

· Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.

· Problem-solving mindset with the ability to address production-related challenges effectively.

· Solid understanding of safety protocols and regulations in a production environment.

· Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

· Strong organizational and time-management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently.

· Adaptability to changing production priorities and requirements.
