The Transaction Services team within KPMG’s Deal Advisory practice provides Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) advice to deliver successful transactions for our wide range of clients including multinational corporations and private equity houses.

The Transaction Services team focuses on acquisitions, disposals, public bids/mergers, joint ventures, buy-outs, market entries, financing and other transactions. We identify, structure and execute all manner of public and private market transactions, and provide our clients with support from initial analysis of strategic options and deal evaluation through to completion. The role involves:

• Team work: You will be a key team member on larger, complex assignments as well as smaller transactions in which you will work closely with senior members and manage/assist junior team members.
• Build strong working relationships: Individuals will be required to assist senior team members in building and sustaining relationships with clients and members of client pursuit teams.
• Deliver quality service and time management: You are to assist in the delivery of high quality service such as managing your own time, planning and organising work tasks, monitoring progress and meeting deadlines. You are expected to upward manage senior members on the team to ensure timely reviews take place to enable timely completion of deliverables. One of our Deal Advisory - Transaction Services core offerings is financial due diligence assistance in relation to acquisitions, disposals, public bids/mergers, joint ventures, buy-outs and other transactions. The team also helps clients to identify opportunities and risks in their transaction processes to identify value and satisfy the due diligence requirements.

As a key member of the Deal Advisory – Transaction Services (Financial Due Diligence) team, the Senior Associate / Assistant Manager will play a critical role in shaping our client’s strategic investment decisions by providing comprehensive financial insights in a fast-paced deals environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive financial analysis on Target companies to evaluate financial performance and position.
• Perform in-depth analysis of financial statements, cash flows, and deal metrics to identify key business drivers, trends, and anomalies.
• Regularly communicate observations and findings to project team leads in a constructive manner.
• Responsible for drafting of follow-up discussion agenda with Target company management to address potential concerns
• Manage interactions with Target management, demonstrating effective communication skills and professionalism.
• Take a primary role in data management, reviewing source information, and highlighting data gaps in a timely manner.
• Assist project teams in drafting reports, articulating key findings, potential risks, and recommendations based on financial analysis.
• Act as a key team member across engagements, collaborating with team members from various functions.

Requirements

• Strong academic background with a focus on finance, accounting or related fields.
• Candidates with professional qualifications such as ISCA / SQP, ICAEW, ACCA or equivalent is a plus.
• Min 2-3 years of relevant experience in a global accounting firms, preferably with exposure to financial due diligence. Candidates with audit, M&A, business combinations or business analytics will be considered, with a demonstrated aptitude for learning.
• Strong analytical skills complemented with sound business acumen.

Role Description

Global TS Service Line Support

• Support Global TS Service Line leadership and Core team with activities associated to Diligence and rolling out of other growth initiatives and investments, as applicable
• By leveraging on past TS experience, support the Core team and contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of engagement delivery tools and methodologies and other initiatives
• Work collaboratively with the Core team to track, co-ordinate and support activities needed to meet monthly/quarterly milestones. This includes setting up bi-weekly meetings and other meetings as needed for the team to connect, take action points and follow up with the team
• Being across project plans for all the workstreams and proactively speaking to team members to get updates, chasing people and keeping tasks on track as far as possible as well as raising issues with the Project Lead etc
• Being across project finances with the Project Lead and assisting the Project Lead with monthly/quarterly performance reporting to Global DA leadership
• Assisting with queries from Leadership, ensuring appropriate consultation with the Project Lead as needed

Knowledge Management

• Keeping the TS site up to date and managing the global project mailbox and enquiries (through delegating them to workstream leads to get responses)
• Support global marketing and communications by engaging with the regional and member firm teams to supply timely and relevant content

Deliverables and accountabilities

• Project management of all key workstreams within the Global TS investment program
• Use AzureDevOps or other tools to support planning and tracking of deliverables
• TS service line network engagement & support
