What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking a WAG Coach who is passionate about developing gymnasts at the crucial mid-level stages and is committed to building a pipeline of future high performers. You will be responsible for managing and enhancing our mid-level competitive program, with a focus on technical precision, individual growth, and competitive success. This role is essential to ensuring our athletes have the best possible foundation to pursue collegiate scholarships or national team aspirations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop & Implement Training Programs: Lead and design athlete-centred training plans for gymnasts at levels 2-6, with a strong emphasis on technique, progression, and long-term athlete development.
• Nurture Talent: Focus on developing gymnasts to prepare them for higher levels of competition, including the Singapore national team and NCAA pathways.
• Collaboration & Innovation: Work closely with The Yard’s program managers and coaching team to innovate and implement best practices that drive success across all competitive levels.
• Event Participation: Contribute to the organisation and execution of competitive events, camps, and clinics that provide gymnasts with valuable developmental experiences.
• Supportive Environment: Maintain open, transparent communication with athletes, parents, and colleagues to foster a positive, growth-oriented training environment.
• Team Leadership: Play a key role in daily coaching operations, ensuring consistency, quality, and excellence across all programs.
• Mentorship & Education: Contribute to The Yard’s Coaches Education Program, bringing expertise and knowledge to develop and inspiring training coaches

Qualifications & Skills:

• Proven Experience: Minimum of 5 years of WAG coaching experience, ideally at US levels 2-6 or equivalent.
• Track Record: Demonstrated success in developing gymnasts to higher competitive levels and achieving strong results.
• Technical Expertise: A keen eye for quality coaching with an emphasis on physical preparation, strong technique and athlete safety & wellbeing.
• Leadership & Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a team, demonstrating leadership and a collaborative approach to coaching and program planning.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of inspiring and engaging athletes, parents, and staff.
• Program Management: Experience in organising and managing gymnastics programs and events.

Position Title: WAG Competitive Head Coach

Job Description:

The Yard Singapore, the premier gymnastics club in Singapore, is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced WAG Competitive Head Coach to join our team. As the only club in Singapore with gymnasts who have been offered NCAA scholarships, we are committed to maintaining our position as leaders in the gymnastics community. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and further developing our competitive program, with the aim of fostering talent that can potentially lead to scholarships or participation in the national team.

Responsibilities:

• Program Management: Oversee all aspects of the competitive gymnastics program, including training schedules, competitions, and athlete development plans.
• Coach Leadership: Provide guidance and support to coaches within the competitive program, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary resources and training to effectively nurture gymnastic talent.
• Talent Identification and Recruitment: Develop strategies for identifying and recruiting talented gymnasts, who have the potential to excel in competitive gymnastics and secure scholarships.
• Athlete Development: Design and implement individualized development plans for gymnasts within the program, focusing on skill acquisition, physical conditioning, and mental preparation.
• Competition Preparation: Coordinate with coaches and athletes to prepare for competitions, including organizing mock competitions, travel arrangements, and logistical support.
• Collaboration with National Bodies: Establish and maintain strong relationships with national gymnastics associations and governing bodies to ensure alignment with national team selection criteria and opportunities for our gymnasts.
• Community Engagement: Act as an ambassador for The Yard Singapore within the gymnastics community, participating in events, workshops, and outreach programs to promote the club and its competitive program.
• Budget Management: Work closely with management to develop and manage the budget for the competitive gymnastics program, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support the program's goals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in coaching and/or managing competitive gymnastics programs.
• Proven track record of developing gymnasts who have achieved scholarships or national team participation is desirable.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire athletes and coaching staff.
• In-depth knowledge of gymnastics training techniques, competition regulations, and athlete development principles.
• Familiarity with national and international gymnastics organizations and governing bodies.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate training and competition schedules.

The Yard Jurong will be expanding their developmental gymnastics programme and are looking for a experienced early developmental gymnastics coach to work with the Junior squads programme manager. The successful candidate will require a minimum of 2 years competitive coaching experience, strong communication skills, be a team player with a desire to learn. The role is 6 days per week including evenings and weekends.

Salary plus 21 days annual leave, internal and external training plus medical insurance
