The role will lead and shape Nikko AM’s global sustainable investment activities, focusing on integration and stewardship.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Integration

• Work with Global Sustainable Investment and Investment teams to further enrich and deepen our ESG integration frameworks, processes and solutions to help achieve clients’ investment objectives, meet our global commitments and ensure consistent outcomes across regions
• Drive key ESG initiatives across the firm
• Liaise with broader stakeholders including Sales, Client Services, and the Global Sustainable Investment teams to develop and execute respective strategies
• Contribute to the investment dialogue by conducting comprehensive ESG research in certain areas, including origination of articles and thought leadership pieces
• Establish and maintain ESG training agenda for the Global Sustainable Investment, Investment teams and other key stakeholders
• Create an ESG communications plan to keep internal stakeholders informed of internal and external developments, initiatives, and regulatory changes

Stewardship

• Establish a stewardship framework and internal best practice standards for ESG engagements
• Engage with our companies and issuers on thematic ESG issues in close collaboration with the Global Sustainable Investment team and the investment teams to shape business behavior that supports sustainable long-term performance
• Oversee annual response to stewardship codes (in particular UKSC) executed through annual Global Stewardship Report
• Contributing to the development and maintenance of the firm’s stewardship policies and reporting responsibilities to industry initiatives such as the PRI
• Developing a process to measure and report Nikko AM’s stewardship activities to evidence outcome-based engagements
• Where required, provide support for proxy voting processes to ensure all accounts are voted in accordance with Nikko AM’s proxy voting guidelines
• Support the client services team to address client inquiries about the firm’s stewardship practices and positions
• Work and build relationships with the investment teams, internal Global Sustainable Investment teams and other key stakeholders

Experience and Qualification:

• Minimum 8 years (preferably more) of work experience in financial services preferably in asset management with exposure to sustainable investment activities
• Preference for investment experience at a sizable investment management organisation
• Demonstrated track record in ESG investing, sustainability or impact investing and understanding of the rapidly evolving regulatory environment and client demand
• Familiarity with ESG data sets and ESG ratings providers
• Track-record of balancing multiple stakeholders, building consensus, and delivering results
• Proven presentation, communication, and written skills

Overview:

Provide sales and administrative support to the institutional and intermediary business development teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in producing accurate and prompt department reports for internal stakeholders.
• Assist in producing initial draft of client portfolio reports.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to obtain inputs for RFPs, reports and presentation materials for prospects.
• Prepare and update performance and factsheet pages for fund presentations on a monthly basis, including upcoming and adhoc client meetings.
• Assist in submission of documents for compliance and legal clearance.
• Monitor public tenders.
• Manage collateral and client database, assist in updating and maintaining the CRM database.
• Assist in KYC due diligence screening new and existing client accounts.
• Coordinate and set up internal meetings for the team.
• Coordinate and confirm on travel arrangements and appointments.
• Coordinate and support on logistic for client events and projects.

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
• Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Mail merge skills. Knowledge of VBA or use of Excel Pivot tables is a plus.
• High sense of responsibility and attentive to detail.
• Must be self reliant, resourceful and proactive, at the same time a team player who is able to operate credibly and leverage the firm’s resources and global infrastructure.

Experience and Qualification

• Polytechnic Diploma in related field (Economics, Finance, Accounting)

This role is responsible for leading our firm’s climate change and broader environmental strategy across asset classes and regions. The successful candidate will be part of a newly established independent, Global Sustainable Investment team dedicated to developing and executing our unified global ESG strategy, and supporting our firm across investment, client and regulatory requirements. The role includes setting or improving existing climate change and broader environmental strategies, frameworks and processes, close collaboration with investment teams across regions, supporting client objectives and developing new green products. Successful candidate will work closely together with our growing team of seasoned ESG professionals. These include Regional ESG specialists, dedicated Integration, Stewardship, ESG Data and ESG Regulations specialists.

A key part of the role involves understanding market, client and regulatory expectations to shape our global and regional environmental strategies and frameworks and support investment teams in deepening their environmental risks and opportunities integration. It requires deep environmental background, along with investment acumen and understanding of evolving market developments in the ESG industry. Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with Global Sustainable Investment and investment teams to deepen and expand our approach to climate change and broader environmental issues
• Advance our overall portfolio decarbonisation strategy
• Develop environmental solutions, strategies, frameworks and processes for investment and risk, to meet international client and regulatory requirements, covering areas such as climate change, biodiversity, water

o Drive our net zero and TCFD approach

The role is responsible for leading and shaping Nikko AM global stewardship priorities. In setting these priorities, the role will involve regular interactions with the investment teams across the asset classes to coordinate and align engagement activities and voting proxies. Engagement with companies is a key responsibility which can include leading and structuring company engagement strategies and developing a framework to engage and assess companies’ climate transition plans.

· Establish a stewardship framework and internal best practice standards for corporate engagement and proxy voting in collaboration with the investment teams with the aim of ensuring alignment on key engagement issues

· Engage with our companies (including at senior levels) on thematic ESG issues in close collaboration with the Global Sustainable Investment team and the investment teams to shape business behavior that supports sustainable long-term performance and transparency of outcomes reporting as well as to ensure an understanding of Nikko AM’s views on ESG issues

· Ensure compliance with and coordinate annual response to stewardship codes (in particular UKSC)

· Contributing to the development and maintenance of the firm’s stewardship policies and reporting responsibilities to industry initiatives such as the PRI and regional stewardship codes

· Collaborate with portfolio managers, global sustainable investing team, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure client views are incorporated into prioritized engagement themes and that there is a consistent alignment between the stewardship framework, sustainable investing themes and client strategies

· Developing a process to measure and report Nikko AM’s stewardship activities to evidence outcome-based engagements

· Where required, provide support for proxy voting processes to ensure all accounts are voted in accordance with Nikko AM’s proxy voting guidelines

· Support the client services team to address client inquiries about the firm’s stewardship practices and positions

· Work and build relationships with the investment teams, internal Global Sustainable Investment teams and other key stakeholders

· Foster relationships with and industry associations to promote responsible investing and shape industry standards
