Job Scope of Pet Shop Assistant/Dog Groomer
- Dematting and detangling hair as required.
- Bathing, conditioning, brushing and drying pets.
- Basic Grooming Skills inclusive of : Trimming pets’ nails, brushing their teeth, cleaning their ears, paw pads and sanitary area shaving.
- Grooming and styling pets according to pet owners’ instructions or standard grooming styles.
- Accommodating special requests that pet owners may have.
- Identifying health issues in pets, such as ear infections, skin conditions, or tooth decay, and informing pet owners of these observations.
- Ensuring that all pets are safe during the grooming process.
- Routinely cleaning work areas.
- Recommending suitable products to pet owners.
- Feeding of puppies and ensuring their cages are clean.
JOB REQUIREMENTS :
- Be a strong team player with positive attitude
- Assist Groomers in handling/holding big pets
- Physically Fit : Able to carry dogs & animals up to 30kg
- Able to work in a warm environment/ wet environment
- Must not be afraid of dog/cat & be bitten/scratched
- Not fearful to trim pet nails and clean pet ears
- Must not be sensitive to chemical, soap or fur
- Must be able to work on weekends
- Not fearful of touching animal bodily fluid (eg. pee, poop, saliva etc)
