MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Responsible for the safe/efficient operation and maintenance of all machinery and electrical equipment onboard vessel operating in Singapore waters and in International waters. Supervision of all Engineering Officers and Engine Ratings (via the Second Engineer). Adhering to budgets and purchasing procedures of the Company. The safeguarding of the Owners' and Company's interests at all times.

Vessels Cargo System Specific Responsibility

The Chief Engineer is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all the ship’s Cargo and Ballast related equipment. He is to assist the Chief Officer in the operation of the ship’s cargo equipment, keep the Chief Officer advised of any bunker, lubricating oils or sludge transfers which may affect the ship’s trim, stress and/or stability.

The Chief Engineer together with the Shipboard Management Team is also jointly responsible for:

• Adherence to, and continuous improvement of, the VMS

• Ensuring that Engineer Officers and crew are well informed of the VMS requirements generally, and specifically, where procedures affect their work

• Co-ordinating with Fleet Superintendent to improve overall safety, environmental and quality performance through reports, and proposals within the engine room and other areas aboard the vessel as applicable

• Ensuring that all relevant technical and machinery space regulations are onboard and made available to the personnel concerned

• Ensuring that the concept of safety and environmental excellence are fully understood and implemented by Engineer Officers onboard, through leadership and sound management practices.

• Providing coaching and training, as required, to Engine Department crewmembers

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible to the Master for:

· The Engine Department and the safety of the crew, machinery and environment directly within his control

· Implementation of the Company's policies which are contained within the company procedures and other official company instructions on all machinery related operations, safety and environmental protection

· Ensuring that Engine Department Officers and crew receive formal familiarisation training on embarking the vessel via the designated officer onboard

· The onboard discipline, appraisal of all the Engine Department Officers and crew

· Safe operation of the vessel's machinery and technical plant

· Implementation of the Lock Out Tag Out system

· Monitoring the performance of the main propulsion and auxiliary machinery

· Accurate monitoring and control of the vessel's fuel and lubricating oil consumption, and the status of fuel and lubricating oil bunker quantities

· Bunkering of fuel and lubricating oils, and other fluids as appropriate. The maintenance of the main propulsion, auxiliary machinery, cargo handling and deck machinery

· Compliance with statutory and classification survey requirements, with regard to machinery and relevant spaces

· Accurate entry of all operational machinery parameters by the watch keepers/duty engineers in the engine room log

· Reporting of any accident and/or damage to the vessel's machinery or technical plant

· Supervision and training of Engineer Cadets

· Acting as Ship Security Officer along with the associated duties contained in the Ship’s Security Plan (note that this role may be undertaken by the Chief Officer)

· Assessment and mitigation of all identified risks onboard in cooperation with other members of the shipboard management team

· Ensuring that shipboard filing and technical drawing are up to date and maintained by the designated officers

· Adhering to vessel budget allocation & purchasing procedures of the Company

· Accurate maintenance of all records pertaining to bunker oil, waste oil and sludge onboard the vessel (Oil Record Book – Machinery, ER Sounding Book)

· Supporting the Master in all aspects of the operation of the vessel and acting as the Company's technical representative when dealing with all third parties

A Production Technician must operate plant process and utility systems effectively and safety. It is expected that procedures will be followed at all times and that O&M Contractor and local regulatory compliance met in all aspects of work.

The Production Technician will facilitate routine maintenance by isolations and reinstatement, liaising with CRO.

The Production Technician is authorized to operate the process and utility systems safely and efficiently and help to prepare such plant for maintenance.

A) Processes

· Start up, Operate, Monitor and Shut Down Process and Utility systems.

· Monitor, maintain and optimize process parameters (Level, flow, temperature, pressure etc) within operating requirements.

· Ensure sampling is carried out and sample results are acted upon.

· Trouble shoot to maximize sales quality and delivery volume to identify problems.

· Maintain discharge water quality within current O&M Contractor or local guidelines.

· Monitor and operate electrical/hydraulic control panels, safety and emergency shutdown devices, Fire and Gas Systems.

· Ensure accurate and timely production reporting and logging is submitted daily or as required by company.

· Witness third party calibrations when appropriate to provide verification of meter factors and volumes.

· Prove export oil meters.

B) Marine/Safety

· Operate under PTW and Isolation Certificates and conduct toolbox talks.

· Depressurise, drain and vent, de-gas, the plant or system as required according to procedures or operating guides

· Confirm that the working area is free of hazards as per Permit or procedure using appropriate tests, (gas/H2S Inert, Volts etc)

· Perform maintenance activities within limit of responsibility and training

· Perform De-isolation; testing and re-instatement of plant are carried out according to procedure.

3) Monitor and Maintain Pollution Control Measures

· Ensure that controlled process discharges from area of responsibility to the environment are within prescribed limits

· Ensure that unplanned discharges are identified, halted where possible, and reported according to policy, procedure and regulation.

· Deal with equipment, waste or other materials for disposal according to the correct procedure

4) Perform Emergency Response Role

· Carry out Emergency Response role.

· Demonstrate competence during ER drills and exercises.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Engineer Officer in charge of the Watch, Ensuring safe and efficient operation of machinery during watch keeping. Carrying out duties of an Engineer as contained within the Company’s Technical Procedures. Maintaining machinery as instructed by the Second Engineer and/or Chief Engineer on board Vessel operating in Singapore waters and in international waters.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Third Engineer is responsible to the second Engineer for:

· Maintaining an engine room watch/UMS duty engineer as required

· Maintaining all plant and paying particular attention to the main propulsion engines, auxiliary engines and boilers

· Adopting safe working practices onboard

· In the absence of an Electrical Officer onboard undertake electrical maintenance, including the completion of all PMS items in ShipSure

· Understudying the Second Engineer whenever opportunities arise

· Undertaking any other tasks, duties as instructed by the chief Engineer and/or Second Engineer

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Responsible to the Chief Engineer for ensuring that Engine Room operations are conducted as per the requirements of the Technical procedures and other applicable safety & security procedures contained within the VMS. In-charge for implementation of safe working practices within the Engine Dept as a member of the Shipboard Management Team onboard vessel operating in Singapore waters and in International waters.

The Second Engineer deputizes for the Chief Engineer in the event of his absence, accident or illness. In such a case, a Log Book entry must be made.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Second Engineer is responsible to the Chief Engineer for:

· Preparation of the main propulsion and other Engine Room plant for sea

· Effective and efficient day-to-day operations of the main propulsion and other Engine Room plant

· Organisation and supervision of the Engine Room watch keepers/UMS duty engineers

· Organisation and supervision of the Engine Department Ratings and other department staff

· Efficient operation of all emergency equipment. Testing of all emergency equipment including equipment not kept in machinery spaces e.g. Emergency Generator, Emergency Fire Pump, Lifeboat Engines, Fire Flaps, Emergency Stops, and Fuel Tank Valve Trips.

· Adopting safe working practices onboard

· Taking all necessary steps to ensure protection of the environment

· Maintenance of the main propulsion and auxiliary machinery, cargo handling and deck machinery

· Maintenance of the machinery spaces, internal steelwork surfaces including general cleanliness

· Fully participating in the Shipboard VMS Management meetings

· Ensuring complete familiarization with all control piping systems and valves, and electrical systems, so that in emergencies essential services can be restored quickly and safely

· Ensuring that a competent Engineer tests the water of all boilers and feed systems daily. In the event of an indication of contamination ensure brought immediately to the attention of Chief Engineer. Ensure that all test readings are recorded in the Engine Log Book and the Treatment Report Forms or Computer software provided

· Advising the Chief Engineer of spare gear requirements and maintenance of the stock levels and reporting system

· Ensuring that Security measures are implemented within the Engine Room spaces as directed by the Master/ Ship Security Officer

· Assisting the Chief Engineer in coaching and training Engine Department junior officers and ratings

· Understudying the Chief Engineer whenever a suitable opportunity arises

· Undertaking any other tasks, duties as instructed by the Chief Engineer.
