Job Summary
The Assistant Accountant will support the finance department by performing various accounting tasks. This role is essential for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the financial operations within the organization. The Assistant Accountant will report directly to the Finance Controller and will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and assisting with audits and budget preparations.
Responsibilities
· Handle full spectrum of Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR) responsibilities
· Timely and accurate processing of sales/work invoices to vendors
· Follow up closely with vendors on payments
· Assist with GST preparation & submission and corporate tax returns
· Assist in the monthly and annual closing of accounts
· Coordinate and liaise with internal parties to support intercompany activities and finance policies
· Liaise with external auditors on audit/accounting issues as well as ensure that the companies meet and comply with all accounting, tax, legislative and regulative requirement
· Responsible for timely and accurate month-end closing and financial reporting to management and ensuring the accounting processes (AP, AR and bank reconciliation etc.) and the group’s finance policies are efficient
· Prepare monthly bank reconciliation
· Present relevant information to Management, Financial Controller and Department Heads for their information and decision-making
· Any other duties assigned from time to time
Qualifications
· Minimum a Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent certification
· Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
· Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word etc.)
· Proactive, exercise flexibility, able to multi-task and work independently
· Enjoy working with people and thrive in team environment in a fast paced environment
· Fluent in written and spoken English
