With a capacity of around 400 beds, Peacehaven Nursing Home provides compassionate, individualized, holistic care to all without discrimination. We offer a comprehensive gamut of services to care for the sick, frail and elderly who have physical or mental disabilities with minimal or no appropriate caregiver support at home.
The Home has 14 separate Resident Living Areas (RLAs), each designed as an individual home-like environment. Hope RLA is specially designed to meet the needs of relatively independent residents with dementia.
Peacehaven Nursing Home has also been awarded the bizSAFE level 3 status which affirms our commitment to safety and health standards at the workplace.

RESPONSIBILITIES
About the Job
As the Clinical Governance Officer and Nursing Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the clinical aspects of our Nursing Home service, ensuring the delivery of safe and high-quality care. Your leadership and management skills will be crucial in guiding our dedicated care staff, fostering a culture of safety, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to plan and negotiate resources for care delivery.
- Coordinate with the Quality Assurance Committee (QAC) supervisor on quality assurance activities.
- Conduct regular audits in collaboration with relevant personnel.
- Implement and review policies for clinical governance, risk management, and quality management.
- Advocate a culture of safety, ensuring incidents are reported for mitigation measures.
- Supervise and guide care staff, escalating issues to the licensee when needed.
- Ensure appropriate skills mix and adequate manpower resourcing for all services.
- Improve and maintain effective care delivery and staffing of Residential Living Areas (RLAs).
- Mentor, guide, and discipline staff within the scope of responsibility.
- Constantly update and review policies and core values of the organization and the profession.
- Lead the team in delivering quality service to residents, relatives, and visitors.
- Account for the maintenance of a systematic inventory for control of drugs and assets.
- Ensure care staff's familiarity with emergency protocols.Evaluate and maintain a high standard of care through clinical guidance, teaching, and support.Identify and plan for the training and development needs of staff.
- Orientate all clinical staff and lead by example in performance management.
- Ensure safe storage of confidential files and records, maintaining residents' confidentiality.
- Recruit staff to meet changing needs and maintain effective working relationships.
- Keep records of all equipment and ensure regular servicing.
- Attend regular nursing and department meetings.
- Conduct multidisciplinary meetings for resident care planning.
- Attend education programs to stay updated with the latest knowledge and skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in a health-related field or equivalent.
- Possession of a Post-Basic Certificate or Advanced Diploma in a Nursing specialty.
- Ideally, a Master's degree in a health-related subject or equivalent (or actively pursuing one).
Job Requirements
You should either be a medical practitioner fully registered with the Singapore Medical Council or a nurse fully registered with the Singapore Nursing Board.
Medical Practitioner fully registered with the Singapore Medical Council with the following experience/qualification:
- a) Registered as a specialist in any branch of medicine, OR
- b) Registered as a family physician, OR
- c) Had previously been deployed as a medical practitioner for a continuous period of 5 years, or an aggregate period of 5 years during a continuous period of 10 years.
Nurse fully registered with Singapore Nursing Board with the following experience/qualification:
- a) Must have served an aggregate period of 5 years in a leadership role in the last 10 years as a RN in a NH, Geriatric or Palliative Care setting.
- b) Shall hold a degree in Nursing; AND either an advanced diploma in nursing; OR post-basic nursing qualifications; OR post-graduate qualifications in clinical nursing.
Competencies
- Professional Qualifications: Registered Nurse with a valid license; an advanced degree in Nursing or a related field is preferred.
- Leadership Experience: Proven leadership experience in a healthcare setting with strong organizational and management skills.
- Commitment to Excellence: Demonstrated commitment to providing high-quality care and a track record of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals and staff.
- Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with and adherence to relevant regulatory guidelines, as well as knowledge of licensing and accreditation requirements.
- Adaptability and Problem-Solving: Ability to adapt to changing needs, address challenges proactively, and possess strong problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities.
- Education and Training: Commitment to ongoing education and training, with a willingness to stay updated with the latest trends in the clinical field.
