The National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for the role of Research Assistant/Research Associate with the Heat Resilience & Performance Centre (HRPC), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The HRPC is a first-of-its-kind research centre, established at the NUS, to spearhead and conduct research and development to better enable the future challenges arising from rising ambient heat. Appointments will be made on a two-year contract basis, with the possibility of extension.

The Research Assistant/Associate who will play a key role in assisting in the development, execution and analysis of research aimed at addressing the challenges of training and operating in rising ambient temperatures. The successful candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary group comprising exercise and thermal physiologists, data scientists, biomedical engineers and researchers. This role will provide you with a unique opportunity to not only develop your expertise in research planning and execution, but also to be a part of the team looking to generate fundamental and forward-looking solutions to working in the heat. There are also opportunities to pursue a part-time PhD with HRPC.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The main areas of responsibilities of the role will include but not limited to the following:

Assistant Project Engineer

Our client is a Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) engineering firm that specialized in a one stop solution in integrating M&E needs from start to end with 900 over major projects that includes corporate, industrial, institutional and government bodies. The Assistant Project Engineer is responsible for coordinating M&E works at site and maintaining and updating the drawing data.

• Remuneration: $3200 - $4500 (Depending on experience)
• Working Hours: Monday to Friday; 9am – 6pm
• Location: Aljunied (15 mins walk from Aljunied MRT)

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage M&E fit-out projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion.
• Handle addition and alteration works on-site.
• Manage electrical systems, ACMV, fire protection, and plumbing services. Site Supervision: Monitor site activities, ensuring adherence to project specifications, safety, and regulations.
• Coordinate and liaise with clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Ensure all work complies with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Review and verify as-built drawings for accuracy.
• Supervise installation of M&E services.
• Ad-hoc duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma in Electrical Engineering or relevant field
• Minimum 1 – 2 years of relevant experience in project management, A&A works,M&E services and site supervision
• Knowledge in Electrical/ACMC/ Fire Protection System/ Plumbing and installation of M&E Services on site
