Job Description:

• Design and implement database architecture and modeling strategies to ensure database security, scalability, and performance.
• Collaborate with the application development team to define data models and optimize database operations.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for principal vendors related to software and hardware.
• Provide production support, troubleshoot database issues, and participate in after-office-hours support rotation.
• Provide support to the application team on database related matters (e.g. data patching, application deployments, extracting data from database for reporting).
• Plan and strategize data mapping for data migration from legacy systems to support the deployment of the project, ensuring no data loss during conversion.
• Review data mapping and integration specifications to ensure adherence to best practices and quality standards.
• Ensure timeliness and accuracy of data sync during co-existence with legacy systems.
• Develop and maintain database-related codes or scripts such as data sync scripts, data masking scripts, stored procedures etc.
• Ensure the availability of database services and servers.
• Installation and configuration of database systems and associated products.
• Ensure compliance with security vulnerabilities and patching cycles.
• Troubleshoot and remediate security vulnerabilities reported by security scan.
• Reviewing and maintaining of database accounts.
• Optimize database performance, including query tuning, indexing, and capacity planning.
• Configure backup systems and monitor database health.
• Perform database hardening in accordance with industry standards.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience with Oracle, MSSQL, DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, or MongoDB, including environment setup and management.
• Experience managing databases in high-availability (active-active) setups will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge in PL/SQL scripting is preferred.
• Knowledge in working with ETL and data co-existence technology with legacy systems.
• Experience with database auditing, security, and data masking products is a plus.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Day-to-day monitoring, troubleshooting and resolving issues arises from Jira and Windchill users

· Ensuring Jira and Windchill are up-to-dates by conducting regular maintenance tasks, monitoring system performance and applying upgrades(if applicable)

· Reviewing and approving requests from users

· Submit weekly/monthly progress reports

· Provide training and support for Jira and Windchill users

· Maintaining and update procedures/WIs related to Jira and Windchill applications

· Responsible for maintaining Jira & Windchill in accordance with MSPL’s standards and best practices

MAIN JOB SPECIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

· Diploma / Degree in any Science / Engineering discipline.

· Min 3 years of experience in a Jira & Windchill Administrator role or similar

· Proficient in Microsoft Office skills, i.e, Excel, Words and Powerpoint.

· Independent and initiative to develop and drive continuous improvement programs.

· Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

· Monitor system performance and capacity, and take proactive measures to prevent or resolve issues

The DBA shall minimally perform the following administration activities for database server and automate them to the extent possible:

• Manage and monitor the database storage, database space utilisation, table extents and growth, and alert or report to the Customer on potential performance or capacity issues, or bottlenecks with recommendations;
• Setup and manage the users accounts, access rights, privileges, roles and profiles;
• Plan and perform database backup and recovery;
• Review all daily logs, database alerts, database export logs and scheduled job logs;
• Plan and schedule regular database housekeeping and maintenance activities necessary to keep the database in a healthy state and at optimal performance;
• Manage scripts and database object deployment;
• Review, propose and carry out database reorganisation, upgrades or necessary to meet target system throughput and performance;
• Perform fault and performance monitoring;
• Respond to monitoring alerts and perform first-level troubleshooting when required;
• Perform database patch management;
• Work with Customer and Customer-appointed Supplier in identifying database related issues;
• Document and maintain database server administration guides and SOPs; and
• Perform annual database disaster recovery test on selected databases as determined by the Customer.
• Conduct a backup and restore exercise to validate that the database which are backed up more than six (6) months ago can be restored. This restoration exercise shall be conducted once every year on samples and at a time determined by the Customer.

The Database Administrator shall minimally possess the following requirement:

• At least three (5) years of experience in MS SQL administration; and
• Microsoft Certified Solution Associate: SQL Database Administration
• At least three (3) years of experience in Oracle Database administration; and
• At least 3 years exposure to Azure and AWS RDS databases
• Oracle Database Administrator Certified Professional.
