Job Description:

• Teach children to speak and write basic chinese language
• Prepare children by introducing concepts that they will explore further in kindergarten and elementary school
• Work with children in groups or one on one, depending on the needs of children and the subject matter
• Plan and carry out a curriculum that targets different areas of child development, such as language, motor, and social skills
• Organize and supervise activities so children can learn about the world, explore interests, and develop talents

Requirements:

• Trained in Certificate/Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE)
• Certified by ECDA as a Level 1 or 2 teacher
• Able to speak fluent Mandarin and write in Chinese to teach the required subject matter.
• Holds a valid first aid certificate recognised by ECDA
• Has at least 1 year of teaching experience in a pre-school setting
• Able to use computer software such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint
• Enthusiastic, imaginative and energetic individual capable of gaining the full potential from each child.
• Have not committed any offence under the Children and Young Persons Act or any other office involving child abuse or child neglect

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working Hours:

• Mondays to Thursdays: 7:30am to 5:00pm*, inclusive of 1hr lunch break
• Fridays: 7:30am to 4:30pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Provide administrative support during enrichment programme / reflection sessions to account for the students’ attendance and engagement.
• Monitor and manage students’ behaviours during the sessions.
• Facilitate 1-1 reflection with students, based on case summary provided. Reflection is based on a combination of Choice Theory and 7 habits.
• Identify and select suitable value articles for students to read up, understand and reflect.
• Take charge of the safety of the students during the sessions.
• provide in-class support for the identified students during curriculum hours and after school programme
• plan and execute activities with teachers-in-charge/external vendor or external partners for the identified students during after-school programme/activities

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Preferably a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident.
• At least GCE ‘O’ Level or the Equivalence
• At least 1 year working experience in primary schools or any education settings as educators or teaching support staff.
• Able to monitor and manage students in completing their tasks on hand.
• Has good communication skills and can work well with students.
• Must be strong in administrative tasks like keeping records and filing.
