Job Description:

• Support students in a full day program in activities of daily living including meals and nap time.
• Assist teachers in planning, developing, delivering and evaluating appropriate individualized educational services, learning programmes and goals for students with special needs in the clinic.
• Assist teachers in managing students in classrooms, therapy area and in community-based activities
• Supervise and assist individual or small groups of students in educational or learning activities or tasks set by teachers
• Assist teachers in the preparation and cleaning up of instructional materials and/or classroom environment for lessons

Job Description

• Lead Teacher in a classroom setting for children with learning, behavioural and developmental needs
• Conduct individual and group EIP therapy sessions for children with learning, behavioural and developmental issues
• Work with team to plan and implement social, emotional and/or behavioural interventions.

Specific Responsibilities:

Teaching and learning

• Identify and adopt the most effective active, creative teaching approaches for SJII students in line with current best practice and the ethos of our school
• Work with other members of the Humanities Faculty to apply consistent standards in the following: curriculum planning and delivery; formative and summative assessment through classwork, homework and formal examination; standardisation and moderation of the examinations process
• Create a stimulating learning environment, including displays of student work
• Teach across the age and ability ranges from IGCSE (Grades 9 & 10) to the IB Diploma Programme (Grades 11 & 12) [IB/A-Level experience is an advantage]

• Adopt strategies and monitor teaching and learning activities to support individuals with SEN/ESL in line with school and faculty policy
