JOB SCOPE

THE ROLE

Plan and perform financial and operational audits in accordance with the approved annual audit plan using a risk-based approach.
Design and apply data analytics techniques in assigned projects
Ensure assigned projects are completed in a timely manner and within the project budget allocated.
Evaluate effectiveness and efficiency of the financial and operational processes and related internal controls and ensure compliance with the Group’s corporate governance framework.
Identify weaknesses in control activities and make value-added recommendations for process improvements.
Communicate audit findings to local management via conducting of closing meetings at the end of fieldwork review.
Prepare audit report to present the audit issues, risks and recommendations.
Prepare appropriate and accurate workpaper documentation in accordance with documentation standards maintained by the Group Internal Audit.
Perform ad hoc tasks and special projects/reviews as assigned from time to time.
Suggest improvements in department matters relating to systems, processes or documentation.

REQUIREMENTS

Degree in Business Analytics or Computer Science / Accountancy or equivalent professional accounting qualification recognized by The Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA)
3 to 6 years of audit experience with a Big 4 Accounting Firm or in an Internal Audit department of MNC
Operational experience in manufacturing industry an advantage.
Must be familiar with Auditing IT process, access management and systems
Proficient in use of auditing tools and techniques such as risk-based audit planning, analytical review, computer-assisted audit technique and data analytics
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Strong business communication, interpersonal and report writing skills

• Managing audit engagements which include initial engagement planning, analysis of controls and processes, preparation and review of audit documentations and management letters and reports and monitoring of engagement progress against budget and timeline

The ideal candidate should have:

• A recognised degree in Accountancy and professional accounting qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CPA Australia or equivalent
• External audit experience of minimum 10 years or more in a mid-tier or large accounting firm
• Experience in handling a portfolio of listed clients in a medium to large professional services firm
• A good understanding of pertinent business and risk management issues and familiarity with the regulatory and reporting environment
• Strong working knowledge of PCAOB standards, IFRS, US GAAP and SOX-404 is greatly advantageous
• Excellent communications skills, strong analytical skills and excellent business acumen

About the Role

In this role, you will be a key player in our audit department, responsible for conducting audits and reviews of our global group of companies according to the annual work plan approved by the Audit Committee. You will work both independently and as part of a team, leading audits and supervising other team members as needed. Your role will involve utilizing audit software such as Galvanize Highbond and analytics tools like ACL to assess risks and operational effectiveness. You will also engage in consultancy projects including post-investment reviews, control self-assessments, process improvements, and digitalization efforts. Occasionally, you may be required to perform investigations based on management requests. Additionally, you will be tasked with proposing and implementing enhancements to internal audit processes to ensure continuous improvement.

Skills and Experience Needed

To be successful in this role, you should hold a good degree or higher qualification from a recognized university, preferably in IT, Accountancy, or Finance. You will need at least 8-10 years of experience managing audit assignments in a multinational organization, with recent experience in a Big 4 firm considered advantageous. Experience working with data analytics in your audits will be a strong advantage for the role.

You should be proficient in Microsoft Office Tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS, and have experience with Business Intelligence tools such as ACL, IDEA, Python R, QlikView, or Power BI. Familiarity with new technologies and robotics tools, including RPA and NLP, is expected. Strong data analytics, scripting, or programming skills for managing and analyzing large data volumes are essential, along with experience in designing dashboards and reporting.

Other important qualities include being proactive and resourceful with excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to maintain a detailed yet broad perspective on assignments, and a strong governance mindset focused on continuous improvement. You should be adaptable, keep up with new technologies, and have a strong drive for results, effectively managing strict timelines and work pressure.
