Team Summary

The Card Product group manages the deployment and optimization of Visa’s core products base consisting of Credit, Debit and Prepaid payments solutions globally. The team is also responsible for the development and deployment of innovation across this product suite. To do this, we work in close partnership with Visa clients and key internal and external stakeholders across the globe. We are also the team responsible for leading the transition of conventional card-based solutions onto digital form factors, ensuring Visa payments solutions remain the market-leading way for consumers to spend their money and manage their payments across Visa’s global regions.

Director, Credit Product Management (AP) does at Visa:

Reporting to the Head of Core Product Management, AP, the role-holder will be responsible for initiatives across three broad areas of responsibility:

Credit Product best practices, leading identification, development and execution of Credit product best practices to drive improvements in usage, activation and preference for Visa amongst issuers and consumers

Drive credit innovation, through leadership for the AP region, of initiatives within the Visa 2030 strategy to expand Credit across traditional credit card issuance and the provision of credit outside of credit card issuance

Facilitate Visa thought-leadership, working closely with in-market teams in AP to develop a clear point of view on the direction of credit, working closely with Global counterparts. The role-holder will lead a small team of direct reports and will work closely with in-market colleagues across AP, in other Visa regions and in the Global team to develop end-to-end consumer experiences that drive client preference for Visa as a strategic partner and make us an enabler of superior value propositions for digitally-enabled consumers.

An essential part of Visa’s success is the establishment and application of rules and standards, to ensure a uniform, reliable point-of-sale UX, both online and offline. The Director will be responsible for efficient administration of these Rules and Standards as they pertain to Credit Products, ensuring that the Rules are fit-for-purpose, while also ensuring their efficient operation and administration.

The role-holder will be responsible for the identification, development, commercialization and launch of new ways to grow the consumer credit business as part of Visa’s 2030 corporate strategy, working closely with in-market teams and with global counterparts as well as Visa issuers to expand “credit-card” issuance, as well as newer ways of efficiently facilitating the provision of unsecured credit.

As part of this role, the Director will also be responsible for facilitating the collation, analysis and dissemination of best practices and recommendations for optimal Credit Product performance both internally within Visa, and as a thought-leader externally, working closely with Visa Consulting & Analytics.

You will need to be highly collaborative and will be the key interface between the market teams and Visa’s global team to ensure our platforms drive product differentiation, consumer activation and engagement

As well as working with in-market, client-facing teams, your team will work closely with in market colleagues, Corporate Strategy, Marketing, Client Services, Finance, Pricing, Legal and Compliance.

Qualifications

What you will need:

• 12-15+ years of experience and at least 8 – 10 years of experience in the payments industry, preferably in product development, product management & strategy
• Experience in financial services, fintechs, telecom, retail and ecommerce will be an advantage

• Core benefits management: Manage Asia Pacific-led benefit programmes across markets, including both company-funded and Merchant-funded benefits; ensure the benefits are tracked and communicated; Support markets in case of any request
• Responsible for revenue target: Work closely with market teams, Sourcing, Marketing and other stakeholders in developing and exploring revenue opportunities via various benefits platforms; ensure revenue target is on track

• Implementation and administration of a robust risk monitoring program to ensure that all local monitoring activities are properly identified, documented, and performed under a risk-based approach with the monitoring results timely reported in accordance with the relevant local policies and procedures established under AIAIM’s Governance Framework including applicable local regulatory requirements.
• Offer risk management advice to the first line to support the first line to make informed decisions and to anticipate, assess, control, and mitigate risks to which the business is exposed.
• Provide constructive feedback in relation to Investment, Operational, and emerging risk to AIAIM’s Executive Committee and Board to further enable AIAIM to take appropriate follow-up actions in a timely manner.

Oversee Ongoing Investment and Operational Risk Oversight –

• Provide feedback and, where appropriate, acknowledgements to the first line responsible for setting up the corresponding automated controls before such controls are implemented in the production environment.
• Provide feedback and advice to the first line on the due diligence processes and on-going monitoring on investment of private/illiquid assets, trading counterparties, services providers (e.g. custodians, brokers, valuation agents etc.), as well as external fund managers.

Perform Second Line Oversight of Errors & Breaches – Perform second line oversight of the handling and reporting of errors and breaches and coordinate with local regulator(s) in a timely and appropriate manner as and when required while covering the following duties:

• Provide second line feedback on potential risk implications arising from breaches and errors (if any) as well as on the corresponding preventative measures in accordance with the local policies and procedures established under the IGF as well as the applicable local regulatory requirements.
• Manage independent fact-based investigations of errors and breaches in a timely and robust manner as and when required.
• Work with management to put in place appropriate follow-up actions to rectify common breaches (if any) and to avoid recurrence.

Perform Second Line Monitoring of Risks – Perform second line monitoring of risks via the controls embedded within the components of AIAIM’s Governance Framework (i.e. Policies, Procedures, Reporting, Monitoring, Assurance, Certifications and Training) while covering the following duties:

• Perform risk oversight and provide constructive feedback to AIAIM’s Business Risk Oversight function, as well as the Exco, to further enable AIAIM to ensure that the risks identified are closely monitored and appropriately managed on a continual and timely basis.
• Serve as a critical risk oversight function within Exco to ensure that the Board is kept informed of risk exposures on a continual and timely basis.

Collaboration and Communication – Build confident relationships based on trust and reliability with all relevant stakeholders while covering the following duties:

• Work closely with other members of Exco to address compliance and risk-related issues in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Facilitate risk awareness among employees throughout AIAIM considering the relevant standards, policies and procedures established under AIAIM Governance Framework including applicable local regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with the local Legal & Investment Governance team and the Internal Audit team on compliance and/or risk-related issues.
• Work closely with Group Investment Risk and Compliance function on group-wide risk and compliance initiatives.
• Provide second line feedback to Group Internal Audit on investment-related matters.
• Engage with the Group Operational Risk function to address potential enterprise-wide risks as appropriate.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in mathematics, science, accounting, business administration, finance and/or risk management or equivalent (preferred)
• A degree holder in Legal, Risk Management, Business Administration, CFA, or related principles with solid experience in asset management business. For candidates with strong asset management experience, experience in risk management or compliance is not required.
• 15 years of working experience within an asset management business, including front-line and second-line experience.
• Relevant professional experience & designations (e.g., FRM, PRM, CIPM) is an added advantage
• Experience in dealing with regulators is an added advantage.
• Good knowledge and hands-on experience in investment compliance systems is an added advantage.
• Highly motivated self-starter, excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail, conscientious and flexible good interpersonal and communication skills.

Strategy

• Shape the global escrow solution product strategy with a view to build a robust and sustainable business and providing inputs around go to market approach, new product constructs and offering from time to time

• Work closely with Transaction Banking regional teams, origination partners and other product areas to commercialise and grow the escrow and account bank product set across Asia and Middle East markets
