JOB PURPOSE
To develop new products that will contribute to the aggressive growth of the company
by formulating new adhesives and coatings using new product introduction process and company roadmaps. Most of the time, the incumbent is expected to work under the guidance and tutelage of the R&D Project Leaders
JOB EXPECTATIONS
1.
Develop new product formulations that meet customer needs and timetables
by preparing formulations, performing physical property tests, and monitoring stability of chemical products and interfacing with the R&D Project Leaders
2.
Review product development results with the R&D Project Leader
by providing effective presentations and test reports
3.
Complete product modifications to meet departmental goals and timelines
by conducting experiments and performing hands-on formulation work then relaying results to stakeholders
4.
Review critical information about product testing and characteristics
by recognizing, defining, and relating product development action items, and by disseminating timely information with the R&D Project Leader
5.
Manage and maintain formulation trials and test results
by accurately updating laboratory notebooks and records in a timely manner
6.
Maintain a safe, healthy, clean, ergonomically sensitive productive workplace
by observing best housekeeping practices for equipment and products use, storage and handling, and by maintaining full compliance with employee health and safety requirements
JOB SCOPE
- Create new product formulations that meet customer needs and timetables by preparing formulations, performing physical property tests, and monitoring stability of formulations
- Share the new product development project results with the R&D Project Leader by providing effective presentations and test reports
- Complete product modification projects to meet departmental goals and timetables by conducting experiments and performing hands-on formulation work
- Share timely information with the R&D Project Leader about product testing and characteristics by recognizing, defining, and relating product development action items
- Manage and maintain formulation trials and test results by accurately updating laboratory notebooks and records in a timely manner
- Maintain a safe, healthy, clean, ergonomically sensitive workplace by observing best practices for equipment and products use, storage and handling, and by following compliance standards
You should have:
- BA/BS in a Science (essential), preferably Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Polymer Science
- 2+ years of lab experience, or lab coursework
- Detail orientation and strong analytical skills.
- Excellent knowledge and experience working with MS Excel and PowerPoint
