MGCA Cafe Pte. Ltd., which is wholly owned by Marubeni Corporation, is a master franchisee of Tim Hortons® in Singapore. MGCA Cafe is looking for a Manager - Financial Planning, Analysis, Control and Compliance to shape the financial strategy and ensure compliance/governance.
Job Responsibilities
1. Financial Planning, Analysis and Control
- Financial Planning:
o Prepare budgets and prospect of the company and its subsidiaries
o Support Finance GM to prepare reporting packages to the shareholder in Japan
o Conduct cash flow management of the company and its subsidiaries
o Build financial projection and prepare scenarios for improvement
- Financial Analysis and Control
o Monitor budget progress – analyze and review monthly company and stores financials
o Analyze sales, cost of sales and product mix data
o Collaborate with relevant functional teams to gather necessary financial information
o Financial covenant management related to the franchise agreement
- Others
o Manage finance related service providers such as financial institutions, accounting firms etc.
o Support Finance GM for statutory requirements such as audit and tax filing
2. Company Compliance and Governance
- Coordinate with relevant teams to establish internal control rules and processes, adhering to the Governance Policy by the shareholder in Japan
- Monitor and facilitate compliance with company policies, rules and processes
- Collaborate with the Legal Team to review intra-company and third-party agreements from compliance point of view
3. Shareholder Relationship
- Serve as the point of contact with the shareholderin Japan, facilitating communication and preparing necessary documents for the shareholder
- Coordinate and manage shareholder related matters such as shareholder meeting and board meeting including material preparation, documentation and filing for the shareholder
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or relevant certification is a plus
- At least 5 years of proven experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in F&B and/or service-related industries
- At least 5 years of proven experience in compliance section of a publicly listed entity
- Strong understanding of compliance, governance, and internal control processes, preferably in F&B and/or service-related industries
- Fluent proficiency in Japanese, preferably JLPT N1 or N2 for liaising and reporting back to the shareholder in Japan
- Knowledge of Japanese governance principles is highly desirable due to the role’s involvement with the shareholder in Japan
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
