What the role is
The High Performance Executive (HPE) is responsible for supporting the High performance Manager (HPM) and High performance Director (HPD) in developing and implementing a comprehensive high-performance plan to achieve national and international success in fencing.
This role involves supporting all aspects of athlete development, including talent identification, coaching, training programmes, sports science and medicine integration, and competition strategies.
The HPE will work closely with athletes, coaches, support staff, and key stakeholders to create a world-class fencing programme.
Reporting to the FS HPM, the HPE will work closely with the FS Account Executive, FS National Coaches (FS NCs), FS National Partner Coaches (FS NPCs), Singapore Sports Institute (SSI), National Youth Sports Institute (NYSI) and any official or Senior Management that FS may assign.
What you will be working on
Key Responsibilities:
1. National Team Support
a. Assist HPD and HPM in developing and implementing a long-term (4+ years) high performance fencing framework, endorsed by the Joint Management Committee (JMC), to guide athlete development for Senior, Junior and Cadet fencers across all three weapon groups.
b. Support the HPM in coordinating and managing the annual plan and high-performance programmes that support selected national athletes (e.g., National Training Centre, spexScholarship Programme, National Team programme, or Campaign Support Programme).
c. Support the HPM with regular reports to HPD and FS NC about the progression level of selected national athletes and National Team Squads.
2. Administration
a. Manage and maintain the athlete ranking system in compliance with FS regulations.
b. Handle competition entry registration for athletes participating in international competitions.
c. Provide logistical and administrative support to coaches during major games and competitions, including event entry and strategic guidance.
d. Implement clean sport and anti-doping programmes to promote fairness and integrity in the fencing ecosystem.
e. Assist with budgeting for high-performance programmes, ensuring efficient resource allocation and adherence to financial policies.
f. Maintain and update high-performance-related policies, including those for the National Team, National Training Centre, ranking system, and athlete selection.
g. Perform necessary financial and administrative tasks to support the high-performance functions.
3. Competition Management
a. Support the HPM in planning and managing national team participation in international competitions, including Olympic Games, F.I.E. sanctioned events, and other major events.
b. Support the HPM in logistics and travel arrangements and ensure athlete well-being during competitions.
4. Stakeholder Management
a. Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including athletes, coaches, parents, sponsors, government agencies, and the international fencing community in relation to progress in the high performance domain.
b. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, regularly updating the high-performance program and related developments.

In addition, an ideal candidate should possess the following:
· Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Sports Science, Sports Management, Physical Education, Coaching, or a related field.
· Minimum 2 years of relevant experience and a proven track record in high performance sports management, ideally within fencing or an Olympic sport of a similar nature.
· Diploma holders with more years of relevant work experience are welcome to apply.
· An understanding of elite fencers’ developmental pathways, especially in relation to the development of talent and knowledge of Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD).
· Excellent communication (written and spoken English) and interpersonal skills.
· Excellent administrative skills, including mastery of spreadsheets and working with datasets and other relevant tools to streamline operational processes.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to deconstruct complex matters into easy-to-understand content for varying stakeholders, and working knowledge of project management concepts, tools, and techniques.
· Initiative and drive to develop, own, and plan around projects which push the department’s objective forward.
· Ability to work effectively in a team environment and under pressure.
· Computer literacy, particularly in sports-related and management software and hardware[An1] , and knowledge management.
· Passion for sport and commitment to developing athletes to reach their full potential.

Additional Attributes:
· Good understanding of Sports Medicine and Sports Science knowledge/resources in the coaching and/or development of national fencers.
· NROC certified or understanding of the Singapore coaching system[An2] .
· Understanding clean sport principles and anti-doping regulations, including their implementation to promote fairness and integrity in competition.
· Adaptable to a dynamic environment and schedule with occasional requirements to work outside of standard business hours.
