Summary

This position is responsible for the entire credit granting process, bill collection, including the consistent application of a credit policy. Conducts periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and the assessment of the credit worthiness of potential customers, with the goal of optimizing the mix of company sales and bad debt losses.

Job Responsibilities

Credit applications:

· Process credit applications within 10 working days, ensuring that clients are notified promptly and professionally. The credit worthiness of all applicants is formally checked and approval must be received from the Director of Finance.

· Review the credit worthiness of all existing non-Accor approved clients on a yearly basis.

City Ledger:

· Ensure all invoices / statements are issued on a timely basis.

· Monitor the prompt follow-up of all overdue accounts and minimize the recovery delay.

· Monitors the special billing arrangements for groups and conventions as required to ensure that postings are in line with customer requirements.

· Monitor and pursue collection of overdue accounts.

· Review city ledger daily for correct postings of charges and take corrective action where necessary.

· Review bad debts listing monthly to prepare collectability analysis for monthly provision for doubtful debts.

· Respond to and resolve account queries in conjunction with accounts receivable.

· Review provision, write-offs and other adjustments immediately prior to month end.

· Implement effective inquiry response procedure for guests and management.

· Liaise between the Finance Department and the Front Office.

· Ensure PX and PM accounts are checked on daily basis and transferred to city ledger within 48hrs from the departure date.

· Review the Advance Deposit ledger to ensure all the balances are either current or for future date.

· Inform the Front Office Manager of any deviations from policy by Duty Managers, or Front Office Agents that may come to his/ her attention.

· Ensure guest refunds are processed in a timely manner as per the hotel policy; with all supporting paperwork and required authorizations.

Commercial Responsibilities

· To keep closed contact with hotel debtors i.e. Travel Agents, Airlines, Corporate clients and Individuals.

This role is part of the Commercial Lending Management Unit. This team is part of the Citi Commercial Bank which specializes in providing trade finance, working capital finance and treasury solutions for Emerging Corporate and Mid Corporate clients in Singapore.

In this role, you’re expected to:

• Interface with and support bankers in underwriting requests for commercial credit extensions for new and existing clients with ownership responsibilities for sound credit decisions and compliance with internal procedures/credit risk policy guidelines and standards.
• Prepare a detailed written credit summary of commercial applicants requesting credit by analyzing the business, interpreting the finance need, identifying the strengths and prevailing risk factors and rendering a final credit decision.
• Perform detailed financial analysis on companies, including trend and ratio analysis, and interpret the financial information.
• Perform credit and personal financial statement analysis on individuals, guarantors, and co-borrowers in order to assess repayment capacity based on cash flow statements, tax returns, and statements.
• Perform industry and geographical research and other due diligence as needed.
• Maintain a solid understanding of Citibank products and services - within Small Business/Commercial Banking and the broader organization.
• Maintain compliance with Citibank credit policies/practices and regulatory policies, to ensure business unit is in adherence to the above and receives satisfactory ratings from internal and external auditors.
• Other duties as required to support business unit and company goals.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:

• 3-6 years relevant experience
• Degree in Quantitative Fields such as Economics, Engineering, Operations Research, Business Finance, or Mathematics beneficial
• Previous experience in credit risk management or equivalent training and experience preferably in the financial services industry.
• Ability to apply credit and risk principles toward business goals.
• Demonstrated ability to synthesize, prioritize and drive results with a high sense of urgency.
• Must be highly organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects and possess effective.
• Interpersonal, organizational and analytic skills.

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of Marsh SG APH's Fiduciary department, with a specific focus on Credit Control.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide a value-added experience and address operational issues and expectations.

• Understand the team's purpose and ensure timely and high-quality delivery to clients, while honouring commitments to internal stakeholders.

• Manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for accuracy, productivity, and turnaround time with internal and external stakeholders.

• Efficiently allocate and utilize resources (people, processes) to optimize operational efficiency.

• Foster ongoing communication and relationships with first-line managers of operating companies to exchange performance information, address exceptions, discuss expectations, anticipate process changes, and identify new opportunities.

• Provide operational decision support and influence expectations with operating companies to enhance stakeholder experience.

• Assess team competencies, potential, and performance levels to develop skill-based development plans and mentor underperforming team members.

• Set goals, conduct timely and objective feedback sessions, and identify skill and competency gaps to create learning plans for the team.

• Implement people development plans to meet current and future skill requirements.

• Foster an engaged workforce by monitoring levels of engagement and intent to stay within the team.

• Promote adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Monitor and address performance in risk and compliance, identifying areas for improvement in operational risk.

• Report and escalate exceptions related to processes, people, and policies, and participate in decision-making as necessary.

• Undertake ad-hoc assignments and support regional office, local business, or Business Process Improvement projects as needed.

What you need to have:

• Minimum 5 years of working experience in Credit Control with prior people management responsibilities

• Experience in operations in insurance / financial services/re-insurance operations within an organization with proven track record in service delivery

• Operations knowledge in Invoice to Cash process and dealing with regional / onshore stakeholders.

• Previous experience in end-to-end credit control and accounts receivable processes within insurance / insurance broking industry
