What you will be working on

In this role, you will:

• Lead and supervise a team to develop, drive, and manage a robust Leadership Development (LD) curriculum under School of Leadership and Management Operations. This includes addressing leadership development needs across various management levels, from junior supervisors to Senior Management and high-potential employees, aligning with the strategic demands of the organisation and the Whole-of-Government (WOG) Leadership Competency framework.

The Db2 Database Engineering Administration team is part of Operations & Infrastructure (O&I) Technology Platform and is responsible for common integration infrastructure that supports communication between multiple enterprise applications and multiple business lines

【What we're looking for】

【MUST】

• More than 15 years of sales experience in the electronic components industry.
• Minimum 15 years of experience and knowledge of management in similar industry.
• Proficient in spoken, written and reading Japanese (equivalent to JLPT1 level) in order to liaises with native counterparts and the Japan HQ for business activities and internal reporting matters.
• Able to understand the contents of inquiries and consultations from clients, and is able to discuss with the related departments in Japan and other countries in order to give detailed explanations to clients and internal.
• Understands the business strategy and plan of the related departments in Japan, and execute them smoothly.

The Business Development Director plays a key role in driving the growth of the organization by identifying, developing and executing strategic business opportunities. This role requires a visionary leader with a strong ability to under market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive forces, and to translate these insights into actionable business strategies. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset, capable of leading team and influencing stakeholders at all levels.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Business Development: Development and implement comprehensive business development strategies for ASEAN that aligns with the company’s long-term vision
• Strategy: Define and lead strategic initiatives to drive long-term business objectives
• Market Research: Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify new opportunities, emerging trends and potential partnership
• Stakeholder management: Identify, engage and secure new partnerships, build and maintain strong, long-term relationship with key stakeholders, clients and partners
• Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely across business units to ensure alignment between business development efforts and company goals. Lead, mentor and foster a high-performing business development team
• Networking: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking to establish new business connections and raise brand awareness.

The ideal candidate should possess:

• MBA or Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering or a related field.
• At least 7 to 10 years of experience in business development, preferable in consultancy
• Experience in managing and leading a team with a demonstrated ability to coach, motivate and develop team members
• Strong understanding of market analysis, competitor research, and customer segmentation.
• Strong background in data analysis and the ability to interpret and draw insights from complex datasets.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software

Role:

• Lead on all Mechanical or Electrical related matters (team & projects)
• Preferably able to perform role as to manage clientele and business development
• Any other areas where candidate can contribute
• Lead a team

Requirements:

• Preferably Professional Engineer (Electrical); LEW(Grade 9) or Professional Engineer (Mechanical)
• More than 8 years of working experiences, preferably in M&E Consultancy firm.
