Key Responsibilities:

§ Present lesson plans, materials or programmes to children in a one-to-one or group setting.

§ Assist the teacher to monitor and supervise the children in the classroom, on field trips, meal times and other activities; or may monitor the class when teacher is otherwise occupied.

§ Assist the teacher in preparing for lessons.

§ Create a safe environment and to provide the best possible care to infants under their charge.

§ Make quick, responsible decisions regarding children’s welfare and safety, including counselling them regarding conduct and self-discipline.

§ Create a secure environment for young children through enhancing respectful, responsive and reciprocal relationships with them.

§ Assist the teacher to develop individual instructional materials, utilize reference and source for materials.

§ Provide administrative support for class recordkeeping and updating portfolio and communication book as required.

§ Assists the teacher in assessing student work.

§ Assist children with toileting or other needs.

§ Shall achieve at least 25 hours of CPD, including courses and other CPD activities, in the calendar year.

Job Scope:

• Support Teaching and Learning – Provides technical assistance to teachers (if required) during lessons on issues related to projectors or sound system in classrooms, lecture theatres, computer labs and seminar rooms.

• Supports school Events – Prepares, sets up, positions, connects and configures audio visual (AV) equipment for “live” audience and/or smiltaneous broadcast to staff and students across the school.

• Equipment fault diagnosis/maintenance – Maintains and troubleshoots faulty AV equipment.
