Job Purpose

The Assistant Engineer’s job scope shall include leading a team of Technical Officer(s) to perform Preventive Maintenance (PM), Corrective Maintenance (CM), Overhaul (OH) and Engineering Support (ES) on all SMRT Thomson-East Coast Line (STEL) Trains, Depot and Workshop equipment so as to provide a safe, reliable and comfortable journey for our commuters.

Responsibilities

• Be aligned and act in accordance to SMRT's Vision, Mission, Service Standard and Core Values.

Qualifications & Work Experience

• Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Technology/ Engineering from a recognized institution.

Responsibilities:

• Work in conjunction with cross-functional teams to enhance service delivery and troubleshoot any OTN-related issues.

Required Qualifications/Skills:

Job Description:

• Corporate with the construction manager to supervise and manage the site operation to align with the project goals.
• Work closely with subcontractors to ensure the progress of project are in time and coordinate the work resources required by subcontractors to meet project requirements.
• Corporate with goverment personnel to conduct on-site inspections.

Key Responsibilities:

1. CI/CD Pipeline Design and Optimization:Collaborate with development and operations teams to design efficient CI/CD pipelines that streamline the build, test, and deployment processes.
   Implement GitLab CI/CD best practices, optimizing pipelines to reduce build times and enhance deployment efficiency.
   Develop and manage infrastructure-as-code (IaC) scripts to automate GitLab infrastructure provisioning and configuration.
   Use GitLab APIs and CI/CD scripts to automate repetitive tasks, reducing manual intervention and increasing team productivity.
   
2. Release Management:Design and manage multi-release deployments, ensuring smooth environment management across different stages.
   
3. Infrastructure Automation and Management:Leverage IaC tools like Terraform and AWS CloudFormation to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum 5 years as a DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, or similar role within a Ship/GCC or multinational environment.
• Skills:

  • Strong experience with configuration management and IaC tools such as Terraform.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical (Air-Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation) Engineering.
• At least 2 Years of local working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Experience in design ACMV / Piping and Piping Structural Support/ Ducting.
