To work with our team of Instructors in the management of our Riding School which offers public riding as well as livery yard with competition facilities.

To develop and scale our training program for Riders and Horses at all levels for our Riding School.

To develop and scale our training program for our National Coaching development program (including Para dressage).

To manage the inventory of feed, bedding and supplements.

Job Duties

Deliver high quality lessons and equestrian activities for our Riding School (RS)

Manage our RS horses’ condition and their schooling for lessons.

Organising and handling of horse care matters alongside Riding Executive.

Manage and report on daily operational matters to the management team (including GM).

Manage and work alongside Riding Executive in schedule, filing and records management.

Complete instructors’ administration task which includes submitting Monthly report in relation to operational matter to Riding Executive.

Upgrade staff competency and qualifications in riding and stable management.

Organising and handling of daily stable matters relating to grooms, vet care ensuring horse and facilities are kept in condition.

Skills & Requirement

Equestrian Australia, FEI or BHS Intermediate Coaching certification or other equivalent with at least 5years of relevant experience.

Experience with coaching riders at Concours de Dressage International (CDI) level (CDI) international competition levels, or have competed at such level of international competition.

Possess in depth experience with high standards of horse care and schooling them to rideable level for our RS riders.

Possess good interpersonal skills, enthusiastic and positive attitude in all aspect of this role.

To have passion for horses, equestrian sports and coaching at any levels of riders.

Able to speak and deliver lessons in English.

To be a Registered with National Registry of Coaches (NROC) with SportSG or working towards such certification.

National Equestrian Center, a Public riding school under the Equestrian Federation of Singapore is looking for a Dressage Riding Instructor to provide high-quality dressage instruction to riders of varying skill levels, ensuring a safe and effective learning environment while promoting the well-being of both horses and riders.

1. JOB DESCRIPTION

B. Collaborate with our team of instructors in managing our Riding School, which offers public riding and livery yard with competition facilities, with a particular emphasis on Dressage training.

C. Develop and scale our Dressage training programs for riders and horses at all levels within our Riding School.

D. Enhance our National Coaching development program, including Para Dressage, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of Dressage training.

2. JOB DUTIES

A. Deliver high-quality Dressage lessons and equestrian activities, ensuring a strong focus on Dressage techniques and competition preparation.

B. Manage the condition and schooling of our Riding School horses specifically for Dressage lessons and competitions.

C. Organize and handle horse care matters in collaboration with the Riding Executive, ensuring optimal care for Dressage horses.

D. Report on daily operational matters to the management team (including General Manager), with specific updates on Dressage training progress and needs.

E. Work alongside the Riding Executive to manage schedules, filing, and records, particularly for Dressage programs.

F. Complete instructors' administrative tasks, including submitting monthly reports on operational matters related to Dressage training to the Riding Executive.

G. Upgrade stable staffs’ competency and qualifications in Dressage riding and stable management.

H. Organize and handle daily stable matters related to grooms and vet care, ensuring horses and facilities are maintained for Dressage activities.

3. SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

A. Equestrian Australia, FEI, or BHS Intermediate Coaching certification (or equivalent) with at least 5 years of relevant experience, particularly in Dressage.

B. Proven experience coaching riders at Concours de Dressage International (CDI) levels or equivalent international competition experience in Dressage.

C. Strong understanding of Dressage, competition rules, and training methodologies.

D. Excellent communication skills to effectively instruct and motivate riders.

E. Ability to manage and care for horses, ensuring their well-being and performance readiness.

F. Passion for promoting Dressage and developing riders’ skills from beginners to elite levels.

G. International candidates are welcome but Tertiary Degree (any discipline) is preferred for application of Work Pass in Singapore

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will join the Programmes and Services department as a Programme Instructor in both outdoors and indoor settings.

Your key roles will include the following:

(a) PROGRAMME DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION

- Research, plan and conduct animals-assisted learning programmes and services, serving different groups of beneficiaries.

- Expected to apply assessment frameworks and innovative approaches in programmes design.

- Coordinate with schools, partners and stakeholders to coordinate logistical matters.

- Perform programme administrative duties including beneficiaries’ progress reports, data collection for evaluation measures and reports.

- Coordinate with Volunteer Manager to tap on volunteers to support programmes where needed.

- Attend equine-assisted learning trainings as assigned while on job.

- Contribute to advocacy and research work related to our work, where possible

- Organise events and activities for EQUAL’s partners or beneficiaries.

(b) ANIMALS HANDLING

- Learn the fundamentals of animals management including horse handling and demonstrate basic proficiency in handling horses during programmes.

- Provide operational assistance by helping out at EQUAL stables when needed or assigned.

- Assist Animals Welfare and Operations Team with husbandry duties before or after programme.

This role may require to work on weekends and public holidays if there are programmes or events. You will report to the Programme Manager and work closely with the Programmes & Services team members. You are to support other ad-hoc activities or projects and to assist in other activities/ works as instructed by your Reporting Officer.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Preferred Experience

- 1 to 2 years of relevant working experience with students from primary to secondary schools settings, disabilities groups or elderlies in community settings.

- Prior experience with horses is beneficial but not necessary.

- This position is required to liaise with the elderlies in multi-cultural community settings. Thus, the ability to converse in mother tongues and dialects are required.

- Fresh graduates are welcomed.

Technical Competencies

- Educational and professional background in social work, counselling and psychology will be an advantage.

- Familiarity with evidence-based framework.

- Facilitation skills in group work.

- Computer proficiency.
