One Research Engineer position is open in the research group of Assistant Professor Zhao Lin, at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS).

The Research Engineer (RE) will work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) on visual navigation foundation model for mobile robots, exploration using reinforcement learning control, learning-based control, etc. The RE will develop and train algorithms that enable intelligent and robust autonomous navigation in unseen environments. Our Unmanned & Integrated Systems business offers holistic solutions in system engineering and integration. We pioneer maritime robotics and autonomy solutions, provide system integration for complex naval and island air defence System-of-Systems (SoS), and take care of the operation and maintenance of Command, Control, Communications, Computers Intelligence (C4I) systems. • Carry out maintenance works (servicing, repair, overhaul) on customers' operational systems.
• Perform troubleshooting and corrective maintenance work safely.
• Supervise sub-contractors to ensure high quality of work and compliance with safety work procedures.
• 24/7 standby for maintenance support when rostered.
• Other duties as assigned by Department Manager and SDM.

Working Location: Sembawang (may be deployed to other camp sites)

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee, manage, and supervise both in-house teams and external contractors for all mechanical maintenance tasks, including:Daily maintenance (preventive, corrective, and breakdown).
   Transition maintenance.
   Turnaround maintenance.
   Upgrades and maintenance-related improvements.
   
2. Ensure all mechanical maintenance activities align with the company’s HSEQ standards, Maintenance Management System, statutory regulations, and industry best practices.
3. Develop, enhance, and execute the company’s maintenance management system to ensure safety, efficiency, and effectiveness, achieving optimal equipment reliability and availability.
4. Maintain and update accurate maintenance records to support robust data analysis and facilitate troubleshooting.
5. Conduct root cause analyses to address equipment or system defects and implement appropriate preventive and corrective measures.
6. Optimize and manage the inventory of critical and non-critical equipment spare parts to support mechanical maintenance needs.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Familiarity with static and rotating equipment.
• At least three (3) years of experience in a chemical process plant.

• Setup and troubleshooting of semiconductor equipment and record engineering improvements for future reference
• Build procedures for assembly, inspection and testing of equipment

Requirements:

• Diploma in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering
• At least 2 years of experience in setting up automation equipment
• Knowledge of Electro Mechatronic System

Requirements:

• Bachelor in Mechatronics/Electronics/Avionics Engineering or its equivalent.
• Prefer 2 years of relevant working experience.
• Entry level with good attitude are welcome to apply as training will be provided.
