Contract Period: From 1 Jan 2025 to 31 Dec 2025 with an option to extend the Contract for a further period of 1 year
Working hours:
• Mondays to Fridays: 8:00am to 5:00pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break
• Daily start time may be subject to change based on timetable for the semester but number of hours daily is fixed.
• A total of 8 weeks of service will not be required for each year
- 2 weeks during Jun school holidays
- 6 weeks during Nov-Dec school holidays
• Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
Scope of Services:
Daily food lab duties
• Upkeep of kitchens, including general cleanliness of food lab equipment, tables tops (work bench and students’ tables), floor and sinks
• Assist in preparing the Food Laboratory for Food and Consumer Education (FCE) and Nutrition & Food Science (NFS) lessons and practical exams, including the preparation of food (e.g. portioning and distributing the food)
• Regular checks and management of utensils and cookware at the individual workstations and ensure all items are accounted for
• Management of ingredients in the fridge, upkeep the organisation and cleanliness of fridge and discard expired
ingredients
• Regular stock taking of existing ingredients and update Food lab Teacher IC when required
Weekly food lab duties
• Maintain cleanliness of ovens and stoves
• Arrangement of equipment and utensils
• Arrangement of students’ tables and chairs
Adhoc duties
• Assist in culinary workshops that are conducted as part of school enrichment programme (e.g. preparation of ingredients and cleaning up etc)
• Support school-based activities involving the use of food laboratories.
• Supervise students in the food laboratory during absence of the teacher (eg. emergency toilet break)
Admin duties
• Ensure goods delivered are as per order
• Ensure proper storage of goods when delivered
Any other duties when required/ assigned by Teacher(s)-In- Charge
Qualification, Skill & Experience:
1. Preferably with PSLE certificate. Those without a PSLE certificate, but with the relevant experience and expertise may also apply.
2. Good inter-personal communication skills
3. Proficient in English as a medium of verbal and written communication with basic reading and writing skills
4. Preferably with experience in school’s Food Laboratory duties and basic knowledge of food safety and preparation.
