Duties of Quality Assurance Lab Technician:

• Assisting in the research and development of Cement-based mortar formulations, including assessing alternative raw materials.
• Conducting tests on raw materials and finished products to ensure quality compliance.
• Validating product performance against industry standards and internal evaluation criteria.
• Ensuring products meet local regulatory standards.
• Providing manufacturing support, troubleshooting, and process improvement.
• Offering technical service, product trials, and training.
• Maintaining lab safety standards and workplace security.
• Any other adhoc duties as assigned

Position Overview

Responsible for evaluating conformance to Company specifications for all ingredients from receiving to work in process to finished beverage bases, including processes, whether at Plant or at suppliers.

Ensure compliance with good laboratory (GLP) practices and good manufacturing practice (GMP), thereby adding value to the Company’s business.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate ingredients, work in process, and finished beverage bases with physical-chemical, microbiological and sensory evaluation test procedures to ensure conformance to specification and in accordance to Company ‘s Quality system.
• Complete the approval and release procedures for ingredients, packaging materials and finished product and ensure quality data are transacted in SAP/Sample Manager (Laboratory Integrated Management System (LIMs)).
• Ensure ingredients have all pertinent documentation (Certificates of Analysis, pre-shipment approvals, etc. before their final release.
• Sample ingredients, packaging materials, intermediate and final products both within the premises and at external storage if required.
• Calibrate analytical equipment accordingly.
• Conduct laboratory testing of equipment /processes/methods to ensure accuracy and repeatability of quality data through process capability studies, control charting, methods validation, out of specification/out of trend analysis demonstrating that GLP is practiced consistently. Document and maintain records of laboratory procedures, process and test data.
• Keep record of chemicals, glass wares, reagents inventories and MSDS for all chemicals. Support the purchase of laboratory item.

Requirements

• Diploma in Applied science or Food science related discipline.
• Minimum of 1 years’ experience in food/beverage or pharmaceutical multinational organization’s quality control department/laboratory operations.
• Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) experience would be considered as an advantage.
• Good Laboratory Practices (LGP) experience would be considered as an advantage.
• Demonstrated ability of executing food industry analytical testing.
• SAP knowledge would be considered as an advantage.
• Able to support shift work (7:30am - 4pm / 3:30pm - 12mn).

Job Scope

• Support the Flavour Laboratory lead in technical projects aimed at evaluating the impact of processes along the cocoa value chain on the flavour profiles of cocoa liquors and chocolates
• Possess the technical know-how to operate processing equipment for cocoa liquor and chocolate making
• Perform experimental measurements as defined, document the process parameters executed and provide written/verbal reports to Flavour Lab lead regularly
• Support sensory panel lead in preparing cocoa liquor samples and materials for sensory evaluation sessions
• Act as the liaison to coordinate analytical measurements requests and delivery logistics for samples between multiple locations as appropriate
• Work to the highest standards of safety and quality
• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment in the lab
• Work with Flavour Laboratory lead to ensure that the laboratory equipment and conditions are up to standard

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Food Science and Technology
• Min. 1 – 2 years experience (Flavour Science background preferred)
• Keen interest in cocoa processing, flavour development and sensory evaluation
