Assistant Professor in Linguistics and Multilingual Studies

The School of Humanities invites outstanding academics to apply for two tenure-track positions in Linguistics and Multilingual Studies at the rank of Assistant Professor. Successful candidates must have PhD at the time of appointment.

The Linguistics and Multilingual Studies programme strongly encourages and supports interdisciplinary research and welcomes applicants who pursue research in an empirical theoretical framework. The suitable applicants should have PhDs in Linguistics or related fields and be able to contribute to the Linguistics programme by teaching core courses in the programme (see description of core courses (Link). The appointees will also be expected to offer electives in one or more areas of specialization. At the current stage of the programme, we seek applicants with one or more of the following specializations:

In addition to teaching at the undergraduate level, successful applicants will be expected to contribute to the administration of the programme, postgraduate-level teaching, and supervision, and be active in research and publication. Key Responsibilities

Database management and basic analysis:

- Download and integrate imaging and other non-imaging data into our research database.

Job Responsibilities:

• Attend to patients courteously upholding quality service standard
• Perform triage and registration
• Responsible for front-desk duties such as, appointments, billing and payment collection, handle enquiries (email/phone/walk-in)
• Ensure availability and operation of the necessary equipment (e.g. NETS/credit card, etc), supplies (e.g. medication, masks, stationery), and systems.
• Perform insurance/medisave claims submission and verification of particulars and limits in various claims portal
• Chaperoning doctor for patient examination
• Assist to prepare and dispense medication
• Top up medications and assist in stock taking as required
• Responsible for the cleanliness of the clinic facilities, including regular wipe down/cleaning.
• Any other duties as required

Job Requirements:

• Minimum GCE N / 'O' level/ NITEC/Diploma in related field
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Passionate to learn and work in the Healthcare sector
• Ability to organise, plan and implement
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Meticulous, Independent, able to multi-task and follow-through with minimum supervision
