This role is responsible for one of the front-end process modules in Office Printhead or PageWide Printbar manufacturing lines and required to apply subject matter knowledge to drive technical and operational excellence in the manufacturing processes. Expected also to work on problems of diverse complexity and scope.
May participate in project team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision making process. Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution. Ability to handle most unique situations. May seek advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues.
Responsibilities
- Designs engineering solutions, including methods, operation sequences, and processes for the manufacturing of parts, component sub- assemblies, and final assemblies, based on established engineering principles and in accordance with general specifications and requirements.
- Lead issue diagnosis and problem-solving, using a systematic problem solving approach.
- Work in a project team of other manufacturing engineers and internal and outsourced manufacturing partners to develop and execute reliable, cost effective and high quality manufacturing solutions for moderately-complex products from new- product introduction through end of lifecycle.
- Delivers professionally written reports, and supports realization of operational and strategic plans.
- Collaborates and communicates with management, internal and external partners in outsourced manufacturing or development r regarding process and standards compliance, recording and reporting issues, and recommendations for problem resolution for manufacture of existing products.
- Represents the manufacturing engineering team for all phases of larger and more- complex development and manufacturing projects.
Education & Experience Recommended
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or any other manufacturing related discipline
• Typically has 2-4 years of work experience, preferably in product/process engineering, or a related field or an advanced degree with 0-2 years of work experience.
Knowledge & Skills
- Using engineering tools and software packages to design and automate manufacturing processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Competent in adopting manufacturing methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement etc.
- Understanding of material properties and hardware and electrical component design.
- Using empirical analysis, modeling and methodologies to validate manufacturing process and tooling design and specifications.
- Proficient in English. Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate ideas to stakeholders
- Competency in Industry 4.0 technologies/Digitalization/Data Analytics is a plus.
