Job position: R&D Engineer (VHF) Intern

VHF Communication Bot

Overview

Very High Frequency (VHF) radio communication is widely used in the maritime industry for essential ship-to-ship and ship-to-shore interactions. However, these communications often suffer from noise, language barriers, and overlapping speech, making them unclear and difficult to interpret.

The goal of this project is to develop an automated, accurate, and reliable system for transcribing and translating VHF radio communications. The system should deliver clear transcriptions and translations of each speaker’s input. If time permits, an additional feature will involve generating a situation summary based on the communication.

Due to limited availability of real-world data, this project will also involve data collection and generation, which could include sourcing open datasets or simulating relevant data using different methods.

Requirements

· Proficiency in shell scripting and Python programming

· Experience with Git for version control

· Interest or experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP)

· Familiarity with deep learning libraries such as PyTorch or TensorFlow

Responsibilities

· Collaborate with a team to prototype and explore solutions

· Contribute to the architecture design and development, tackling challenges like high reliability and scalability

· Research and implement technologies and approaches that align with project goals

Role Overview

As a Marketing & Operations Intern, you’ll play a key role in supporting both our marketing initiatives (60%) and operational processes (40%). This dynamic role offers hands-on exposure to content creation, campaign management, influencer partnerships, and behind-the-scenes operations like supply chain coordination and procurement.

We are looking for someone who is available for a 6-month full-time internship (school internships/attachments welcome).

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation & Marketing

• Ideate, produce, and edit short-form video content for Instagram and TikTok.
• Plan and execute marketing campaigns across email, social media, livestreams and web platforms.
• Research and engage with influencers aligned with LIKKA’s brand.
• Manage influencer collaborations, including negotiations and campaign execution.

Operations & Coordination

• Daily operation - order fulfilment, inventory organization and management.
• Assist in supply chain operations, including coordinating with shipping companies and tracking deliveries.
• Support procurement processes, such as liaising with suppliers and ensuring timely product availability.

General Support

• Assist with photoshoots, graphic design, and video editing as needed.
• Support product design and sample development

Job Responsibilities:

-To support the outlet manager in running the operation.
-To provide service according to procedures and standards established by the F&B Department.
-To be knowledgeable in all service techniques.
-To ensure that all pre-opening duties are completed on schedule daily.
-To be familiar with all the items on the menu. In this respect, you must have knowledge of all recipes, methods of preparation and preparation time.
-To recommend and promote items on the menu or specials to guests.
-To maintain a high standard of personal hygiene, appearance, and deportment at all times.
-To clean up section area after service and maintain the cleanliness of the area.
-To perform other related duties as required by the outlet Manager.
