JOB SUMMARY

• The Group’s Fit For Growth (FFG) Programme commenced in Q1 2024, with the aim of simplifying, standardising, and digitising the Bank’s processes, to provide a platform for Business growth and to ‘make it easier to get things done’. The Programme has $1.5bn of investment funding for distribution to generate $1.5bn of annualised saves.
• As part of the Programme, a central team, the FFG Programme Office, has been established to help structure, co-ordinate, prioritise, support, and monitor the initiatives that will be selected to deliver the efficiencies and growth opportunities. The team will also help to manage the governance, communications and reporting of the broader Programme.
• This role has diverse responsibilities including: reviewing and challenging investment cases for funding approval; getting into the detail of each portfolio of initiatives; being close to stakeholders to support execution certainty; monitoring and analysing the overall portfolio and acting as an advisor as the programme progresses.
• The ideal candidate will be very curious, bright, enjoy ambiguity and working in a start-up style environment, hands-on, analytical with good story-telling presentation skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy

• Articulating the high-level FFG opportunity for the Bank, and the breaking-down that by Business and Function (i.e. Portfolio), in order to provide clarity and transparency on the objectives of the Programme.
• Understanding the overall FFG Programme structure, covering all Portfolios, whether Business, Functional or pan-Bank, their teams, programmes, and initiatives.

• Working closely with the Portfolio Leads their delegates and teams for a range of workstreams (e.g. WRB, Procurement, Tech, CIB) to ensure that objectives are clear, and delivery is tracked and reviewed on a regular basis.

• Understanding in detail one or more of the portfolios, thereby assisting with the identification and monitoring of efficiency and optimisation initiatives.

• Supporting the management of the FFG funding clearing house process, ensuring the right opportunities in are reviewed, challenged, and prioritised to receive investment spend.

The Opportunity

We own, evolve and support the technology platforms that handle the post-execution processing for the Securities Execution, Prime Clearing, and Prime Brokerage businesses. This includes exchange and broker trade processing, internal firm/firm trades and client delivery across physical and synthetic products. We are at the start of a multi-year convergence program to deliver all of these businesses onto a single, high scalable platform, enabling business growth with reduced operational costs.

About the team

Our team consists of 19 people in Singapore and around 100 globally. Almost all of our projects are cross-location and cross-function, meaning we work directly with Front Office, Operations, Legal, Tax, and our Engineering colleagues from those areas, across the wider firm.

We work directly with Operations and Securities sales/trading, to design and implement, a wide range of functions including trade aggregators, trade matchers, payment systems, intercompany trade booking and settlement systems, and connectivity to exchanges, counterparties and vendors. Our Exception Workflow and Business Intelligence tooling allows our Operations teams to respond to client enquiries and monitor service levels.

Our Post Execution platform consists of a variety of applications that demand high throughput, performance and availability, including our strategic new Post Execution Sequencer platform which is a brand new/greenfield initiative to converge all of our businesses onto a single technology platform, to have much better scalability, improved resiliency and reducing the time needed to develop and deliver new features.

We're a team of specialists charged with managing the firm’s funding, liquidity, capital and relationships with creditors and regulators. Corporate Treasury manages the firm’s financial resources and minimizes interest expense through liability planning, asset liability management, and liquidity portfolio yield enhancement. The division is ideal for collaborative individuals who have strong quantitative analysis skills and risk management capabilities since Treasury actively manages the firm’s financial resources which are constantly changing due to business activity, markets, risk appetite, regulations, and other factors.

Liquidity Management is the firm’s “central bank” for managing the firm’s overall cash positions. Job Summary:

The COO is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization, ensuring that all business operations are running smoothly, efficiently, and in alignment with the company’s strategic objectives. Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or MBA in Business Administration;
• Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience;
• Strong leadership traits and analytical skills;

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);

The Private Wealth Management Group develops and manages relationships with wealthy individuals and families, advising them on ways in which to build and protect their financial assets through equity, fixed income and alternative investments.

The Markets Solutions Group develops and structures cross-asset class derivatives to private wealth clients, helping them take advantage of market opportunities and manage a broad spectrum of risks. Within which, there are Equity Solutions Group & FICC Solutions Group that focuses in different asset classes.

Responsibilities:

• Provide advisory and transactional solutions for private wealth clients utilizing our robust execution platform featuring a multitude of global trading counterparties and issuers
• Assisting in monitoring of macro sector trends and their impact on asset markets, identify trading opportunities in the individual asset classes and/ or the hybrid spaces between them.
• Work in conjunction with trading teams, capital markets, research, and strategists to meet client needs and develop investment recommendations
• Work closely with our London and NY teams to ensure ideas reach the AWM franchise globally
• Partner with Private Wealth Advisors to provide clients with world-class coverage and service.
• Work with Control Functions (operations, controllers, compliance etc) to ensure smooth settlements, risk monitoring and revenue recognition
• Educate Private Wealth Advisors and clients on products and opportunities across all asset classes
• Assisting in the creation of marketing materials and market update materials

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years’ experience in markets. Multiple sectors and regions preferred.
• Experience in bond portfolio construction and management --- recommend switches, hedges etc.
• Interest Rate Derivatives experience
• Equity and macro market experience
• Structuring and pricing, OTC & securitized products would be an advantage
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, transaction-oriented environment
• Keen interest in the financial markets and has solid commercial instincts
• Attention to detail
• Good judgment and risk management
• Strong quantitative skills; comfortable working with complex, structured financial products

Job Purpose

This is a role in SMBC’s Private Wealth Group and it includes supporting the establishment of credit and risk policies and responsibility for private wealth related credit products including structured lending (single stock financing), Lombard lending, mortgage lending and insurance related lending. The role will entail write up of credit proposals , working with the head of credit solutions to establishing the framework for such credit products including Loan-to-value (LTV) and exposure management on various types of collateral and monitoring of the credit exposures. The role also involves review of structured loan documentation and continuous updating and development of process manuals for such lending.

The role requires the person to work closely with various stakeholders including private wealth RMs (both in Nikko and SMBC), credit risk, legal, operations, compliance, planning, internal audit in the region, relevant departments in SMBC Head Office as well as group companies such as SMBC Nikko Securities.

Job Responsibilities

• Support the Head of credit solutions to design, implement and maintain risk control and monitoring parameters across SMBC Group (including policies, control standards, risk exposure limits and other control levers) to maintain the risk profile of the portfolio in line with risk appetite
• Work with the risk and legal teams to evaluate individual lending proposals and to ensure support from an end-to-end view, i.e., credit evaluation, write-up of credit proposals, loan approval, documentation and post disbursal monitoring.
• Support the launch of initiatives such as new product approvals, systematic monitoring and control initiatives, collateral management, loan to value management and risk appetite framework
• Partner with senior management teams to deliver financial objectives, prioritize and drive execution of key initiatives, and ensure cohesive teamwork across the businesses and functions
• Implement and execute both regular and ad-hoc stress tests as required by regulators and internal parameters
• Coordinate and work closely with Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit, Credit, Planning and other control functions including SMBC Head Office and group companies such as SMBC Nikko securities to enhance the cooperation and capabilities

Job Requirements

• University Degree
• A strong background in private bank credit and passion to establish guidelines, monitoring control, system, collateral management and risk grading.
• 10+ years in performing similar roles in the APAC financial industry is preferred with emphasis given to candidates who have had exposure to structured lending, establishing framework for new products and driving portfolio management and monitoring in private wealth business.
• Experience in credit analysis and approval process, credit policies, documentation, stress testing, processes and controls, monitoring, regulatory interpretation, and risk appetite.
• Proven track record and accountability providing clarity in complex problems

Job Responsibilities

The Executive Director will provide the overall leadership in executing the strategic plan for Chinatown Heritage Centre (CHC), and advance various initiatives to drive the success of the Centre as a vibrant heritage hub in the ethnic enclave of Chinatown.

1. Leadership

2. Operations & Programming

• Direct CHC’s operations, including visitor experience, gallery tours, educational programs, public programming, curation and installation of special events, adhoc exhibitions, and managing of retail / event spaces.
• Oversee the management, maintenance, and capital projects of the property, facilities/grounds, and collections of CHC, engaging outside expert advice as necessary.
• Conduct periodic assessment and evaluation of CHC’s in-house programs, public events, and retail offerings

3. Planning & Administration

• Direct and oversee marketing initiatives, including the promotion of CHC through media outreach, press releases, website management, social media, etc.
• Lead, supervise and evaluate performance of museum staff and fulfil staffing requirements of CHC
• Attend board meetings as Executive Director and Overall Administrator of CHC.
• Prepare monthly / annual reports and execute all other reporting requirements as prescribed by the board.

Skills and experience

• Demonstrates a passion and enthusiasm for CHC’s mission and strategic plan, and a willingness to grow the standing of the centre along with the larger Chinatown precinct.
• At least 5 years experience in museums / attractions / space activation / events organisation with strong track record of demonstratable success
• Excellent leadership and effective staff development and organizational skills, in areas such as hiring, coaching, problem solving, empowering staff to provide a positive customer experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to build effective relationships both internally and externally. Relate well to people from the events and tourism industry.
• Strong project management skills, with experience in managing P&L, budgeting and financial planning.
